Windows Vista Pricing Announced

Microsoft has announced pricing for their new flagship operating system, Windows Vista. http://www.geeksters.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=542 The Basic version upgrade will cost users $100, which seems about what XP sold for if memory serves me right. Will you plunk down $259/$399 for the Ultimate edition though? Will that Aero interface be worth it? I am curious if someone doesn't write their own nice interface for Vista and release it open sourced. Microsoft is staking a lot on Vista. I am sure that special OEM pricing will be available to manufacturers to get it in consumer hands as well.
