I know some of you play games and I thought I would mention it here. A company called CCP created an update to their EVE Online gaming client with disasterious results. http://www.geeksters.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=736 Critical to Windows XP booting is the "boot.ini" file that resides in the root directory (C:\) of your harddrive. The game patch overwrites this file with one of their own that contains information only to their game and not Windows XP. On a reboot, the computer will no longer reboot as this changed "boot.ini" file does not give Windows XP the information needed to boot. This is a blunder of major proportions. This file is a well known key system file and to overwrite it is just incredibly stupid. Makes you wonder if they ever test these things out. There are angry people out there after loading this patch that may not be able to easily fix their machines like I can. Wow!
