I was rather surprised by the news that Linspire has made it's easy to use Click 'n Run software updating and installation tool free. http://www.geeksters.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=540 Linspire is a flavor of Linux that may intrest beginner users to the Linux world. The Click 'n Run tool made the loading of software and updates an easy thing. Users once paid a yearly fee to use this service. Freespire, the free community version of Linspire also has this tool and it may make me think twice and advise beginner Linux users to look at this distribution. Freespire though, has a few bugs in it that I am sure will be solved as the project moves along. Maybe it is time for me to have a close look at it and see how it shapes up against SuSe and Mandriva in the beginner Linux market.
