I wrote about this single CDROM Linux Distro roundup today at Geeksters.org.

I've never considered single CDROM distributions before.  Maybe I was afraid that so much would be missing that I would spend my time downloading instead of configuring my system.  I guess I had nothing to really fear as these KDE based distros have most every tool I would want and play mp3s right out of the box.  I tend to give new users Mandriva or SuSE (Fedora Core for folks that have more experience)but maybe I have looked at it wrong.  Maybe the "kitchen sink" distributions have too much to choose from.  Too many choices for a new Linux user may be scary and make them think "what if I choose the wrong program?".  Does KDE do most everything I need now?  Yes.  These distros have mp3 support built in and nothing needs to be downloaded.  Yes, you will probably need to download DVD support, Windows Media and Real Player through the MPlayer project.  These distros may be the ones I should be handing out...
