EeePC - Wow!

The reviews are flowing in for the new Eee PC from Asus.  I had my take on one of them at Geeksters.org:

It may have a small screen and not a lot of memory but I do feel this device will change mobile computing.  It does what it does quite well in most respects.  As I noted in the article, the user can install the complete KDE desktop as well, which most know is my favorite.  Streaming media is available as well.  Things I would like to hack on this is cabling my Treo to it for places I don't have wireless access.  Also, since it has no Bluetooth, can I get a Linux capable USB Bluetooth adaptor to work?  I think everyone will want one of these things and by next year, the competition could bring more to market.  I'm also waiting to see how the hacking community will modify these devices to make them even better.  The Eee PC is why Palm gave up on their small notebook.   It wasn't even close to what the Eee PC can do and it was priced higher.  This device will be what Microsoft wished the UMPC would have been as well.  We may be seeing the birth of a new family of devices, the micro media notebook.
