Another A-Rod Saga....2004 Trade

Doesn't this ever end? Now a Yankees trade? And after he was made "team captain" too. Does anyone in the Texas Rangers front office know what is going on? Does someone need to change light bulbs in there?

Actually I think they finally realized how stupid the contract was and got desperate to get rid of the whole contract or at least some of it. Because honestly they couldn't spend much for the rest of the players. He in a sense became a 24 and 1 player, not by his own doing but by texas ownership. I think Hicks is an idiot.

I agree that Hicks is an idiot. Well, the trade was approved today by the other big idiot in baseball, Bud Selig. With a salary level of nearly $200 million, it certainly puts a little pressure on the Yankees to win, doesn't it....

Thats what gets me. All those salaries, all those big name players, and look who's been winning the world series the past few years. Goes to show you that a "team" will win, not salaries. However this is also a big problem for yankee fans. The addition of a-rod's contract (at least part of it), is going to force ticket sales to go up. Heck I can't even afford to go to a game now.

Well, so far the trade is very positive here in Texas. One thing I didn't realize is with all the money he was making, this guy didn't care about the area at all. No appearances, no charity functions...just whining about the Rangers rebuilding.

Oh he never cared about Texas. What he really wanted was to go to NY. Because Jeter had the endorsements and press. He wanted that too. The Mets messed that up. But had he come to the Mets, it would have been a contest of who's the better shortstop and who gets the most endorsements. Now, the question is, will it become A-Rod's team or Jeter's team? Both have big egos. Gonna be very interesting.
