The 2004 Summer Olympic Games
« on: Jun 20th, 2004, 1:32am » |

In a few weeks the Games of the XXVlll olympiad will be held in Athens, Greece. This is where it all began. Now I know these games are not about winning, but you would be crazy to think that winning a medal isnt important. Post your favorite events and what country you think will win those events, and what country will win most Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals?

Do they have football (soccer) in the Olympics? World Cup is the only sports I look forward to. Anyway, to answer your question -- presuming the brits/celts are playing, I'm going to be rooting for them.

Cathy yes they do play soccer in the olypmics, but dont be calling it football. In the states, especially in the midwest and southern areas, soccer is the sport you play when you dont make the football team. Anyway here are my picks. Track and Field: United States and Canada except for the marathon and Kenya will win that. Those dudes can run for days nonstop. Swimming: United States China and Russia Gymnastics Womens: Romania, Russia, China, United States Soccer: Dont know and dont care Diving: United States and China Boxing: United States, Cuba, Mexico Judo and Tai Kwon do- China, Japan, US

Well the organisers of this particular event ar enot in anyway superstitious. Am I the only one who thinks starting the whole thing on Friday the 13th is begging for trouble.
