The Adventures Of Being Alive

I have just realised the last few days that I have truly come full circle. I used to haunt the pages of this forum, then left it without a word. Now I've returned --- a little bit older, a little bit bolder and hopefully, with fingers crossed, a little bit wiser. Life has been good to me. So is Love and Friends and the Almighty. And my writing skills could use a little bit of honing, but what the heck, I'm happy. So happy, I could want for nothing.

I am in constant amazement at the wondrous blooms that add colour to every garden, frontyard, roundabout and park here in Wellie. Fuschias and lavenders braved the autumn chill and the winter touch; but when September heralded spring, jolly good daffodils and classic tulips added a touch of festivities in the air. Currently, we are in the middle of summer, and the riotous blooms of deep and pale hued roses are everywhere, rendering the atmosphere glorious in its rosy scent. The pansies, too, are showing off with their vivid colors; but who can ignore the deep purple blooms of the hydrangeas, or their pale rosy tint depending on the pH of the soil in the garden? I count myself truly blessed to enjoy these favourite blooms outside my bedroom window, so blessed that I am unable to resist cutting a few flowering stems to adorn the dinner table.

linear, too linear: traveling in a straight line, cutting across a threshold for god knows how fast. yet stem to stem unfurls the thought of you like little cloud bursts i tried to grasp; as it floats across and disappears like thought is lost in the midst of waking. so like the dream i dream of you when i sleep; so very like you and the heart i could not keep. msb © 2004 june 25

| Mrs NJ! I'm glad you like my flowers. I have wanted to try my hand at gardening for the longest time; and well, it certainly helps that The Tall One loves to putter around the garden, too. You know, I can't wait to see the "fruits of our labour," --- we are growing tomatoes, courgettes, and chilli peppers this summer!
