I did this story on Geeksters.org: http://www.geeksters.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=478 n This is the 20th anniversary of the worst nuclear accident in history. For those who don't know a lot about Chernobly, please go read the article and go to the sites I have linked there. You can learn about the "Red Forest", the blue glow of the power plant at night, the ghost towns and villages and the great human tragedy of the firefighters who gave their lives to save others. The disaster area has become a vast laboratory to study the effects of genetic mutation. There will always be concerns about how to keep the remnents of reactor number 4 encased in concrete until something can be done about the disaster site. I have not even mentioned that the remaining reactors are now shut down and what will have to be done to clean up the mess. The sites linked there are great reads and can be haunting as well.
