Playstation 3 Frenzy

With the Friday release of the PS3 in the US, I saw coverage on the major cable news networks of a frenzy of buyers for this new gaming console. I was shocked to see listings on eBay of $10,000! Tonight, I had to go see for myself what was going on with eBay, PS3s and psychotic gamers. I did see several machines there. In fact, lots of them. Only a couple though were being bid on in the $1000 range. Some were to be had for under $800 with only scant minutes to go on the bidding. Some that were listed over $1000 or had extreme shipping and handling charges ($50.00 or more) had no bids on them at all. I saw some eBay Store outlets with a Buy It Now price of $2,200 with free shipping. None of those were being purchased. I guess if you can find one person to give you that outrageous fee, you've made your fortune. Funny thing is though, is it really worth all the hype? I'm hearing many good things about the Nintendo Wii at less than half the price. The Wii was relased Sunday.
