I know that this story is not being posted on April Fool's Day. This is a true story. http://www.geeksters.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=645 The Canadian First Nations in Manitoba wish to charge a fee for cellphone signals passing over their lands. I am not making this up. They feel that the spectrum over their land is a resource like water and land. The First Nations chiefs intend on negotiating with Manitoba Telecom Services for a fee on every single cellphone signal travelling over their land. How they intend on proving the signal is actually travelling over their land and how many signals there actually are is to be determined. There must be a backstory to this that is not stated in the article because this is plain silly.
