Bible Questions Answered:
« on: Apr 13th, 2006, 7:48am »

I have giving some thought about some comments I have gotten about my posts in the forum with added questions about the bible and different traditions in the churches.  So here is a place where you can post a question about the Bible from certain scripture meaning to history of the books of the Bible and I will give you answer as promptly as I am able if I don't know the answer off the top of my head I will go and do the research.  Don't think any question is trivial, or silly.  So go ahead shoot your questions at me!

Ummm ok. Not to be rude, but just for curiosity's sake. What makes you think you're an authority to answer any questions that we may have about the bible? I mean, are you a scholar? I'm sorry for asking and I'm asking in all sincerity. What's your qualifications?

I'm threading on water here, I realise.

For starters in June I will be a licensed Pastor even though at this time I don't plan to have my own church.  In college I took extra Ancient History classes with the thought of taking Ancient history as My minor degree.  I was raised in a Jewish Christian home, that stil held a lot of the traditional values of the Jewish People.  Give you an example we observe Passover, however we discuss how it for shadows the sacrafice of Jesus upon the Cross.  I read the bible cover to cover every 3 months.  I am incharge of a Bible study at one church and teach sunday school at another church.  I and I still bury my nose in ancient text and numberous other text.  My faith if of the utmost importance to me so I even have tried to find text that contradict what I believe.  My library at the house I have dozens of Christians Resources such as William Guide to the Bible, Fox's books of Martars, Strongs and Vines, A hebrew and Greek Lexagon guide, and several exhaustive comentaries on the different books of the Bible.  Several copies of manuscripts that come from as early as 70 A.D. From Rome Greece and Isreal.  I may not have a PHD but I spent enough time studing to be one.

I understand your curiousity, Cathy. Yes, it's so true that talking about the Bible, answering people's questions about it, teaching about it and even sharing about it to other people is not at all a joke, and not at all an easy thing. Sharing about it, can even be offending to some people. So, maybe it's more correct to say the invitation like, "Present your questions about the Bible, here, and let us share, or study, or discuss with each other" ? Because, when it comes to Bible discussion, scholar or not, no one can tell who has the  right and wrong answer or thought.

However, I thought that when Kitch said he would provide answers/an answer to our question/s, he probably meant, he'd be more than willing to help us get answers/an answer for our question/s and would even do reseach for it. [?] And if so, I appreciate the courage and willingness there, that he has.  Grin

Right on, Krissy!  Wink  This is perhaps the only thread that I'm too cautious to venture about. This is an extremely delicate topic to share and discuss, coz most of the time you'll suddenly find yourself in a middle of a debate. We all have different opinions. Yeah, who's to say this scholar is more accurate than the next? It's like opening a can of worms and it isn't always easy to open your mouth and then just forget about the whole thing. On most topics I really try to stay away from. For the most part, I only come here to blog anyway. LOL.
