maybe "X" rated?

I can no longer post in this forum.. My Nephew and family are visiting me, and they have
twinn 12 yo old girls, who had asked me if they could use my puter..And being I had nothing bad on it,
I said "sure no problem"...Unfortunatly they found this site and were very upset with me, being that I
post in it. Then my nephew was highly upset also, for me posting on what he said was a "SEX" site that
can be found by any seach engine for the content...
Sometimes it takes a person from the outside looking in, to see the whole picture. I see also,
Kitch tried several times to start a CLEAN thread without any luck.. Being it is going from a "G" to"R"
then to an "X" rating, it is highly suggested that it "NOT" be available to the public, without logging in..
In other words NOT available to the public without being a member..
It is a shame that a public forum has gone this way, when it used to be so enjoyable...Everytime I
look at the forum most of the subject matter is about SEX, positions, size, and prefernces...I click on
the 10 most recent posts and its all sex!!!! I am not a prude by any means, but I have no interest in
posting my sexual preferences or bragging about my conquests!!! AND, I have no need to read about
others BOASTING and BRAGGING about it!!! I think the word "RESPECT" comes to mind!!!
I will remove all the posts by me, and go on...
This will probably "tick" off some people, but thats life!!!!

Hi, Jimbo. That was a very brave post from you, I must say. While I understand your perspective and totally respect it, may I be so forward as to say that this forum has come a long way from being a bit on the 'prude' side to becoming a VERY open medium of self-expression. I speak for myself when I say I have never felt so comfortable expressing my opinion on a subject as controversial and sensitive as sex to just about anything under the sun.
I'm sorry that you feel that way about the forum, however. I will not try to change your opinion, but I do ask you to give us, people who post here sharing our most personal experiences to 'strangers' more credit. We also come here to have fun, and share and to learn. Through mature and open discussions. We may disagree but that is necessary to be able to see the bigger picture. To me, that is what the forum is about. Freedom of expression.
Also, respect, I believe isn't restricted only to speaking of kind or proper words, it is also about being a little more open-minded and accepting of other people's views.
Just my thoughts.

If you don't want to post here, nobody is going to force you. I do take offense though in calling this forum and my site a "sex" website. Yes, there are topics here of an adult nature and that I expect to be handled in an adult manner. I have deleted posts here before that contained foul language and the like. It is also absolutely unfair to bring up another forum user's name without him being here back up your assertion. I too have had discussions with Kitch about this forum and he understood that there are areas that he would dislike. He did find areas however, that he did like posting to and did so whenever he wanted. I don't read all the topics in this forum, nor do I intend to. This is a "general" forum where I invite posts from all the users that abide by the rules set forth when membership is applied for. I also do not direct users to post in certain areas to "even things out". If they want to post in All About Sex", so be it. Funny, I did not see my postings about Linux or Hurricane Katrina being sexual in nature.
If you think this forum is nothing more than a filthy din, I cannot nor will not attempt to change your view on it. I do not happen to see it that way. Would I like childern to see postings in All About Sex? No. On the other hand, I absolutely do not like the idea of 12 year olds using a computer without some sort of adult supervision. I also would not like my childern to see Barney websites (a blatent attempt at commericalism and bastardazation of good television for childern) nor would I have them going to a popular childern's website like NeoPets (an MTV Network website thrusting questionable commercial content down their throats).
One thing from your posting that I will consider is the fact that I need to make a stronger statement that the Groups listed under Love and Relationships are adult in nature. I will not however, be dictated by anyone on making this a public or private forum. I also checked on the Internet's most popular search engine, Google, and the term "sex" did not reveal this forum. However, when I used the term "sex" and "1freeworld", I did see three listings appear. None of the listings were of a content that you were alluding to. So, I do discount your search statement as being "fact".
I have set basic rules of this forum, of language use, rascism and hate. I will not deviate from those, nor will I institute rules that will curtail freedom of speech. The sex topics here may not be of the absolute editorial and educational standards of Dr. Ruth Westheimer's http://www.drruth.com, but I do not expect them to be. They are comments formed by everyday people and not experts in the field. By your standard, Dr. Ruth's website is also a "sex" site and should be rated "X". I disgree strongly with reasoning such as this.
My words of advice to those users of the forum is as follows: If you don't like the topic of the Group or thread in the Group, do not read it.

It's really very unfortunate that your relatives has opted to open the sex topic rather than the religious one or the topic about politics? Then maybe they will not be so upset by what they read? As you can see, Jimbo, this Forum has lots of threads/topics. What we try here is try to accomodate everyone's preferences or interests? We have lots of threads here, from religious to politics to home and family? If you have notice...there are some members who do not posts at the Sex thread for reason that maybe they find it too much for them? But there are ALSO some people like me who are open to any topic because for me it broadens my horizons? We do not have anything against those who chooses to visit other topics, it's everyone's choice. But believe me, there is nothing pornographic about the things we discuss in that said topic. Sometimes we just say things to make readers laugh. And we are comfortable with it because we KNOW each other. We have been posting in that SEX topic for a long time now and NO ONE has ever approach us to make sexual innuendos according to what we have written. It's for US who enjoys talking about it. You make it sounds as if us who posted in that thread are immorals. Believe me, Jimbo, I am a very respectable person. And those that have met me in person can attest to that. By the way, before they open the said SEX topic, your relatives already has an idea of what they can find? Unless they are dumb enough to misunderstood it? But still...they took their chances by opening and reading? My, my, my! I'd say, your relatives has a mighty curious little mind, eh? Little devils? Please tell them that next time they come across a Forum...they MUST choose what topics to open. It's an ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK zone. It was nice knowing you while it last, Jimbo. Too bad we have a difference in opinions.

If you own the computer but it's not just you who's using it, why not create a "Guest" log in? You let a 12 yr old child uses your computer unattended when you knew you have website addresses saved there that are not suitable for her to view. It's your problem of carelessness that you should learn, Jimbo. Then, you came here in the forum , tell a story, put the blame here, rate it, and tell how should the forum be set up? It was already explained before why the Administrator doesn't want it to be a "closed" forum. Read earlier pages in Comments and Suggestions.
I have nothing against about the topics in "All About Sex" section. I believe we are all adults here, and as the Administrator said, topics there are expected to be handled in an adult manner, and I believe they are. There is no pornography there. I really don't understand why you are so against about it. To tell you, this is one of the strangest things I have encountered-- an American adult man who thinks sex conversations by adults as very wrong thing.

What do you mean, "CLEAN" ,"without any luck"? Many of us read what Kitch writes. Not because there's no reply written, it doesnt mean, it was ignored. You used the word clean, so you mean you take sex topic as a dirty thing? My gosh, this is so unbelievable.

You should have explained about the forum and what interests you about it, guided them and showed where you only post.
No one is stopping you if you want to delete all your posts. I don't like anyway your practise of posting, then when a reply didn't agree with what you posted, you delete it.

A 12-year old getting upset with his uncle over sex topic? Most kids I know of that age are already curious about the "facts" of life. Unless this nephew is a paragon of virtue? Because it's not normal for a kid to react that way. Most kids would find it funny IF they understand what were being said in those topics. Nice family you got there. Do you all walk around with bibles in your pockets or use rosaries as necklaces? What did they do, opened the thread, checked on all the topics and chose the ones with the X-rated replies in it? Nahhhh, I don't buy that. I think you are just trying to make excuses for yourself so you can make an issue out of it. I think what really happened is that you got curious, opened and read the said topic urself and found it highly unacceptable by your "standard". Well...that's too bad. That's what happens when people get curious and go to places where they should not be. Or act immaturely. By the way, IT IS X-rated, as all topics about sex is likely to be. But it's just like in the movies, you don't like it, then don't watch it.

Haha Witchy, I share the same thoughts! If I were the 12 years old child, I was more ashamed to react about what I saw and wouldn't tell anything to my uncle about it. I would rather close it immediately. Although on my mind, I may say, " Oh uncle is visiting sex websites" . ( If I thought that what I saw was about sex website). I have nieces and nephews too and when we watch movies and they see kissing scenes, they are even ashamed to say anything, and instead take their eyes away from it, especially if we are watching with them. So, I dont buy the story ,too.
I find this so funny, really. Someone hates the "All ABout Sex" section, yet he knows the contents!
And Witchy, I'm laughing with you.

Let me make some things clear about what the "all about sex" is all about...
1. As the titles says, it is all about sex... meaning every topic in this group pertains to sex...
2. We (being the posters in all about sex) try our best to post our comments in ways that only adults can understand. I use words like kitty and dickydoodle in ways that the normal INNOCENT kid wont understand...
3. SEX is not a bad thing. THe purpose of this sex threads is not to make perverts out of everyone but to help them understand themselves and to help them treat sex in a more adult way. Sex only becomes bad when you think that its bad.
I won't let a 12 year old kid use my PC in the first place. Second if he or she ever comes upon these threads i would explain to him or her that "SEX IS A SACRED THING THAT ADULTS SHARE AND SHOULD NOT BE DONE BY MINORS"
Mymy asked me to moderate the all about sex threads and i said yes because i wanted to make other people see and learn that "LEARNING ABOUT SEX doesn't mean that you are going to be a pervert. The more you learn and understand everything there is to know about sex the more you learn how to treat your relationships better. A good example is the KAMA SUTRA which is the art of love making. It have very descripive ways of explaining sexual positions but it treats it in a very intimate and respectable way. IF YOU CANT TAKE THE HEAT THEN GET OUT....
If your post is an insult to those who post in the "all about sex" threads then it is more of an insult to me since i amthe moderator and since YOU ARE MY FRIEND JIMBO! Did you even think 10 times before you made your post? You have been a chatter in ac1 longer than i have. And i have never been a hypocrit to you or to anyone pretending i'm someone that i am not. How could you make this kind of comment knowing very well who I am and the way I am? How could you talk to me so casually and back stab me? You laugh at all my jokes in the room and on pm. But not once did you tell me to stop it with the green jokes. if you ask me it is your fault why your relatives saw the sex comments. And if they really didnt want to read the sex comments they should have stayed away from the "all about sex" threads. I mean it was typed in a very clear manner wasn't it? IF you really didn't want your mind to be corrupted then you wouldn't have went into the threads right?
If you are such a do gooder that has never had sex or has talked about sex so casually then DONT GO IN THE "ALL ABOUT SEX" threads... Go to the government and politics ( which i am also the moderator there) or the religion or the tech parts of the forum. No one forced you to be in here and you dont have the right to say who among the moderators or the posters are respectable or not.
I dont usually take things in here too personal but you should have thought twice or even 100 times before you post here.. But since you are a free man with your own free will we will respect your comment and will not DELETE it. But that being said MY OWN OPINION should be respected too. And in my opinion you are a hypocrit and you are looking for someone to blame for your own mistakes. There is no one else to blame but you with what happened.
Aw and i wish you all the luck in finding a SEX FREE WORLD!

I seldom get angry in my life. You know how I always love to joke around. But I take what Jimbo said as a personal insult because I am an avid poster in that section coz it's fun arguing with the men, but I don't find it seductive or arousing in any way. Sometimes it's downright hilarious what they post in there. And heck, I post in ALL the other sections and it's not like as if I post in a sexual way in any of the other topics? I think not only Jimbo is a hypocrite, I also think he is a moralist in a perverted way.
