I'm Worried About Alba The Cat....

Alba the Cat seems to be scratching around her head and mouth. Very hard. She has scratched so hard by her mouth, that it has bled. I really can't afford the vet at this time. She looks ok otherwise, and seems happy and active. She is a indoor cat....never goes outside. Has anyone seen something like this? My other girls are not doing this.

I'm no cat expert, but it could be a rash. Check your other cats. Also try posting this on groups.google.com. I'm sure someone might know something. Hope she gets better.

| My tagalog tutor, thebeastinme is a vet for big animals. his patients are made up of horses, cattles, porky pigs LOL. He knows nothing about feline, rodents or canine. At the most he would advise the pet owner to put it to sleep Any thing to say in defence thebeastinme ? LMBO

I never said I didnt know nothing about felines, canines, rodents, birds or any of the other smaller animals used as pets. I only said my specialty is the larger animals. The larger animals are usually purchased as an investment. An investment which is made to provide some kind of profit or some kind of worth other than love or affection. I dont think that owners of horses, cattle or swine even look at them as a pet. Smaller animals(specifically rodents) that are pets around the house are not looked as an investment unless they are used in the dog and cat shows or used for breeding purposes. Now if a person brought thier hamster in for me to look at, my thinking is the person does not have much sense. Due to the fact that what I charge this person could probably buy him 10 more hamsters. Now dogs and cats are a little different but you have to weigh the pros and cons. Even though a cat or dog for the normal pet owner does provide lots of love and affection for the pet owner, he or she has to make a decision if the pet becomes ridden with cancer or various other diseases. Is it worth it to put this animal, who by the way has no idea whats going on, through the curing process? Whatever the disease is, some are worse than others, there are things to be considered. The cost of the whole therapy or cure should be considered? In other words is it worth it when chances are below 50% if the pet is even gonna survive. The pain and the stress that the owner is gonna put the animal through should be considered. Animals are not humans...they have no idea why you are doing this to them...so this just causes them more stress. Now as far as alba the cat is considered...and this is only opinion not recommendation due to the fact that I have not done a physical examination on alba...I am willing to bet that alba has an allergy of some kind and needs to be put on some antihistamines. Even though alba is a house cat, I am sure she ventures outside from time to time and even if alba doesnt there are plenty of allergens around inside the house. Food is a common allergen for animals just like humans. Thats why I always say never feed an animal human food. I would also think that alba needs to be declawed. Some animals just like to scratch because it feels good. She is a house cat and declawing will save your furniture as well. Alba will still be able to scratch but not have the capablility to cause bleeding. All this cost money so the owner of Alba needs to weigh the pros and cons.

Yehey! Doc. Joel finaly heard! . I wish Joel spoke when Ree needed that advise ,though. But that's a very good health information for pets. I believe either, Alba needed to be declawed because ReeBop is so busy. He might wasn't aware. Hihi. Mike, update us about Alba.
