have had too many pets, my family owned a pet shop when i was young, grew up with snakes, spiders, scorpions, rats, mice, dogs, cats, birds and we even kept a pig in the basement of the house.. actually, the pig was the best watchdog we ever had, nothing like seeing it tear through a door and keeping ppl inside of their car till someone came out and said ok, but then again, it ate all the bark off the trees in the yard there, they have only died over the years there (the property there is now owned by an uncle) Pigs make great pets, they are very bright, they can be housebroken easily. when i was very young, we kept an emerald tree boa, he was named herman, i used to drag that poor snake with me all over the place when i was very very young, the problem with snakes is that they are 100% instinct, and they never really change, they can be hand tamed, but still, they live only by instinct,a snake will rub his nose raw and get moody when molting, that can be dangerous if you keep poisonous varieties, and i have (timber rattlers & copperheads) argentine toads make great pets, but require live food (pinkies (baby mice)) and they attack anything that enters their cage, and god it feels weird when you look down and theres a toad wrapped around your finger, argentine toads are about 90% mouth. at one time i had a 1/2 timber wolf, was a great dog, but she chewed the legs off my kitchen table, and she was an alcoholic as well, i couldnt keep budweiser in my own home, the dog would chew into the cans to get at the beer, she liked to get drunk and sing with the radio, was quite noisy. scorpions and spiders are the same as snakes (all instinct) and therefor can also be a probem, but i have to admit, i find ornamental indian tarantulas to be very lovely. but what pets do i favor the most? Birds, we currently have 2 zebra and 2 spice finches, and in tha past we have had cockatoos, cockateils, lovebirds, parrotlets, but i have in my mind to get a african grey, i think that that would be the ultimate pet, especially with 2+ large birds. did you know that an african parrot can imitate doorbells, telephones and other noises around the house perfectly? they not only speak, but they comprehend as well, this is the major difference between it and other talking birds, an african grey learns to understand english, not to just imitate it.  drawback... dont let it answer the phone, cause it may imitate you, perfectly. birds are generaly easy to care for, unless you are starting handfeeding / weening them (in the african greys world, this means you are helping them learn to fly as well, and cutting their wing feathers to slow down their flight)

When I was 14 I gotta hold of a baby racoon. I called him Rick Rack. Rick Rack drove my mother crazy. Listen u all remember Harry Hudini well Rick Rack and Harry had a lot in common. I swear that coon was an escape artist. He got out all the time and when he did look out cuz he was gonna get into something. We were eating dinner one day and the screen door opened and in walked Rick Rack.  Not only did he manage to get out of his cage, but he got on top of this big flower pot my mother had next to our front door and he managed to open the screen door and walk in cuz the front door behind it was open. My brother, sister, father, and i just burst out into laughter but my mom didnt think it was funny. Well a few months after that Rick Rack got out of his cage again and never returned. My mother said that he was off terrorizing someone elses life.
