Flu and Weight Loss

I have to admit here and now that having the flu is not the ideal way to lose weight. There, I said it and I feel better for it...

Back in 1985 when I was in the US Navy I had the Flu for 13 days straight. I lost 30 pounds and was so bad off I could not eat solid food.
I had to take an antibiotic for my Pneumonia I contracted plus the last 3 days of that sickness I was in the Ships Hospital.

As to the flu not being an ideal way to lose weight, I say...
Baa-Hum-Bug!!! 
I think it is, and that the Government should try to get as many overweight people as sick with the flu as possible. LOL.  Maybe they might lose a few pounds, and that for the most part they would come out of it with better health then they had before the flu.
I also think that the new fat subsitute Olestra is made exactly for that purpose and reason. To get people who could loose a few pounds (Myself included) to do it without them even knowing what was going on. (A little off topic but what the heck)
Call me a conspiracy theorist at heart, but if you don't question things who will?
