James Doohan died this morning at 85. http://www.geeksters.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=349 If you are in your 40's, Star Trek was one of the most popular TV shows for we kids. My mom would usually let me stay up late on Friday nights to watch the show and I loved every moment of it. I particulaly liked Dr. McCoy and Scotty. Believe it or not, those two actors inspired many to become doctors and engineers. Cheers, James....

I think that James Doohan...or the actor that was best known for the role of "Scotty" on the original Star Trek series will forever go down in Pop Culture for his one liners. Something along the lines of... "I DON'T think it can HOLE ON any LONGER Capt'NNNNN...!!" I also had no idea of his Medical Condition in recent years. May James Rest in Peace.

I am a fan of the first star trek series. I remember watching all the reruns when i was 4 years old. LOL and if I am lucky enough to find it televised today when I am channel surfing I will watch the same reruns again. I am no Treky but I do like the series very much and I have seen every episode at least 30 times I bet. Nichelle Nichols who played Lieutenant Uhura was very sexy to me as a kid. I read in the paper where George Takei, who played Sulu, has come out of closet and announced he was gay. Willliam Shatner, who played Capt James T. Kirk, is still making movies. DeForrest Kelley, who played Bones or Dr. Mccoy passed away. Walter Koenig, who played Chekov, is still living though I not see him in to much these days. But my favorite character will always be Leonard Nimoy, who played Mr. Spock. He does a lot of narrating on biographies now days and stars in movies and even directs a few movies. I can always recongnize his voice on tv.
