RealBasic, a cross platform BASIC programming environment for Windows and MacOS X, has announced a beta version of their new product for Linux. The beta is free, and when the final product is ready, it will be free as well. GUI programming environments in Linux are few and this will add a strong product to a programmer's choices. The ability to be cross platform is a huge plus. Here is a link to their announcement: http://realsoftware.com/news/pr/2005/2005r1/lnx/
