Title: Yahoo to Close Down Chatrooms Post by ReeBop on Apr 1st, 2004, 10:31am Yahoo!(AP) Due to increasing calls that chatrooms lead to moral disintegration and loss of time that could lead to betterment of humanity, Yahoo! will be shutting down chatrooms in the next few days. Quoting anonymous inside sources, "we just don't see a need for chatrooms...I mean really, just open your door. Go outside and shake the hand of your neighboor! So what if he or she smells bad...". These same sources say that Yahoo will replace chatrooms with a paid "personal classified ad" service in the near future. "We still feel a need to help lonely people...and make a buck for ourselves." the source stated. Tragic! ;) |

As crappy as Yahoo's servers are, they still bring in da' money for Yahoo with the adds at the bottom of the pages. I do have a question thou. All the bots and the dating sites that advertise in the chat rooms...Does Yahoo know about them and does Yahoo get money in terms of fees to let them post there adds?? Reebop...anyone??
