Title: Naps Have a Health Benefit

I heard this story on NPR and did a story about this on Geeksters.org:

Naps are found to have significant health benefits.  In working men, the benefits are quite high.  It's too bad that in the US, naps are frowned upon and our rate of heart disease is somewhat high.  In your part of the world, do people take naps?  Do you?  I wish I could...

I used to, at my old job. Our breaks during the day is pretty much flexible. We have this 'employees' quarters'. There are two tiny rooms (male and female) with a bench on both sides where we can stretch out. What most of us did was take our lunch during our "tea" break then take a nap on our supposed "lunch" break.

I think it's called Siesta, which I believe we Filipinos adopted from our Spanish "ancestors".

Personally, I think (power) napping helps boost your energy for the rest of the day. You feel refreshed and sort of feel as if you're just about to start the day. As opposed to feeling as if the day is stretched out.

I saw a brief mention of it this morning on ABC news, but didn't really pay attention because I was getting ready for work. lol.... That being said, I don't understand the Science behind it. Afternoon naps, that is. I know that the body does its "repairs" during sleep at night, for a long period, understandably. But for a 30-45 minute of sleep? I'm not too sold about the 'health benefit' part.
