Likewise; to need someone more than you want is insecurity. To want someone more than you need them is lust. So could love be defined as keeping an equal balance of need and want for someone? Maybe love is not just about finding the right person, but creating a right relationship? Surely it's not about how much love you have in the beginning but how much love you build till the end? Or is it just the wisdom of the fool and the folly of the wise?

I have had a number of epiphanies about love and relationships that I wanted to get off my chest.

Sometimes , I think love is such a funny thing. I think I watched too many 80's movies (and Pedro Infante) that made me think that love is immediate and perfect. Well, before, I found someone who I thought was amazing and it was completely out of left field. The situation was not at all what I expected, and falling in love was pretty immediate. But the process is still the process and just loving someone doesn't mean that there aren't struggles and a need to really get to know one another. And that isn't even the half of it. No one is perfect- and I know that I am not...but I think I had some expectation that the "right" guy would be. And what amazed me, is that, perfect is such a relative term. My meaning of perfect here when it comes to love and relationship thing, is different. Perfect means that the object of your affections should challenge you from time to time- to make you analyze and evaluate yourself without making you feel small...that they should be more interested in your health and honesty than just "saying the right thing" all the time. It means dependability and sincerity. It means struggling through self doubt and confusion because of all the baggages that we all carry, and, at the end of the day, still feeling the comfort with their presence and their supportive arms. It means, not letting fear prevent you from expressing all the good stuff instead of just frettting about the bad or confusing stuffs- and expecting them to read your mind and assuage your doubts and it means making up because you care more about each other than being right-- seeing a side of things that you never saw before that was hard to even come around to except that you trust that person's mind enough that you try to put yourself in their shoes even if you really think they are wrong or crazy- and you realize where they were coming from and how much sense it actually made.

It is so mind expanding and miraculous to find real love. I feel like I have, and I wish that for all of you, as well.
