Title: Re: Alaska Post by JINX_x_JINX on Jan 11th, 2004, 8:01am try Portage Glacier & Lake Eklutna both have nice lake but Portage Glacier is kewl wiff Icebergs ... they have this tour on the boat to get closer wiff all this icebergs ... am recomending you to buy the ticket inside the cruise than buying it in the Portage Glacier so you would not wait enuff n ticket price is much cheaper inside the cruise than buying it there ... the boat is kewl dont worry its built to stay close wiff icebergs so titanic would not happened ..lol when I went there we watched this film of Glacier wiff all the Ice Sounds its quite kewl though ..thought its borring ... best part is ... bring a glass n cognac n drink it wiff iceberg .. its nice hearing the sounds of it melting n making cognac much sweeter ... note: dont go in alaska in summer every hotel so expensive |

Title: Re: Alaska Post by thebeast on Jan 13th, 2004, 1:15am been to alaska twice once by land and once on a cruise. i liked both but the cruise well let u see more of the state at least on the coast. but the real beauty of alaska is its interior. most of its interior is still in its natural state. if u go cruise do as many on shore adventures u can do. dont spend to much time at the cities of port on a cruise. they just full of souviner shops with stuff way overpriced. i used royal carribean as a cruise line they are real good. u get to eat as much as u want. alaska is way to cold to visit in the winter. plus its dark all the time. in the summer u get more daylight. there are lots of lodges to stay at out in the wilderness of alaska. but u can find good deals for your money depending on what u wanna do. i didnt have to pay i went with my parents both times. so i wouldnt know how much it costs. if u stay on land u need to fish for some salmon. i really love the place. lol i can go on forever about it but i will stop here :-X |
