Title: Daily Scripture Reading for November 2004
Post by gracia on Nov 1st, 2004, 4:58am
November 1, 2004...........Matthew 5:1-12

When he saw the crowds, he went up the mountain, and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him.  He began to teach them, saying:  "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted.  Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land.  Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.  Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.  Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God.  Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.  Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you (falsely) because of me.  Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.   Thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Guide question:

Do you stand up for righteousness in times of persecution?

When Jesus arrived, he found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days.  Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, only about two miles away.  And many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to comfort them about their brother.  When Martha and Mary to comfort was coming, she went to meet him;  but Mary sat at home.  Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.  (But) even nowI know that whatever you ask of God, God will give you".  Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise."  Martha said to him, "I know he will rise, in the resurrection on the last day." Jesus told her, "I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.  Do you believe this?"  She said to him, "Yes, Lord.  I have come to believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, the one who is coming into the world.

Guide question:

Have you ever been tired and frustrated of waiting for God?

It's easy to say I will because the situation hasn't arises yet, but most of the times whatever is easy is always hard to do.  So instead,  if that time comes, i will pray to God for strength to stay strong and stand for righteousness.

Quote:

There was never time like i've been waiting for God, because i know deep in my heart He lives with me, and i hang on to Him at all times.  I felt so lucky that despite of my sinfulness i can still feel that God stays with me....but we all know that God came not for the righteous but for the sinners.

Great crowds were traveling with him, and he turned and addressed them, "If any one comes to me without hating his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.  Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.  Which of you wishing to construct a tower does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if there is enough for its completion?  Otherwise, after laying the foundation and finding himself unable to finish the work the onlookers should laugh at him and say, 'This one began to build but did not have the resources to finish.'  Or what king marching whether with ten thousand troops he can successfully oppose another king advancing upon him with twenty thousand troops?  But if not, while he is still far away, he will send a  delegation to ask for peace terms.  In the same way, everyone of you who does not renounce all his possessions cannot be my disciple.

We normally have weekly activities for the Lord, but if one is busy or the others are not available, we usually move it to another date.  It's a kind of give and take situation, loved ones activity were most of the times scheduled, so that can always be arranged.  However, if its kind of urgent matters and there's not enough time to give notice, then it's either i will attend or my husband will. Division of labor is what we call it.

For me,it's very difficult to say i prioritize Lord's activities especially if both activities for the Lord and with your friends are scheduled at a time and when  that's the only time you can spend time with your friends.I accept  I lack so much attention for the Lord.I never allow Lord's day to be preoccupied though.

The tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to listen to him, but the Pharisees and scribes began to complain, saying, "This man welcomes sinners and eats with them. So to them he addresed this parable.  "What  man among  you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert and go after the lost one until he finds it?  And when he does find it, he sets it on his shoulders with great joy and, upon his arrival home, he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them, 'Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.'  I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over nintey-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.  "Or what woman having  ten coins and losing one would not light a lamp and sweep the house, searching carefully until she finds it?  And when she does find it, she calls together her friends and neighbors and says to them, 'Rejoice with me becasue I have found the coin that I lost.'  In just the same way, I tell you, there will be rejoicing among the angels of God over one sinner who repents."

I'm not really sure which boxes i can aptly put myself.  I was never really a lost child, but as i was meditating, it came to my mind that when i'm in sin, i am losing myself, and when i confesses them, i've found a new me.  But i cannot say, i belong on the found boxes because whether i like it or not, i'm most likely be committing sins more often than i expected. Maybe I'm in both boxes....lost now ...found later...and  so on and so fort

Then he also said to his disciples,  "A rich man had a steward who was reported to him for squandering his property.  He summoned him and said, 'What is this I hear about you?  Prepare a full account of your stewardship, because you can no longer be my steward.  The steward said to himself, 'What shall I do, now that my master is taking the position of steward away fro  me?  I am not strong enough to dig and I am ashamed to beg.  I know what I shall do so that, when I am removed from the stewardship, they may welcome me into their homes.  He called in his master's debtors one by one.  To the frist he said,  'How much do you owe my master?"  He replied, 'One hundred measures of olive oil.  He said to him, 'Here is your promissory note.  Sit down and quickly write one for fifty.  Then to another he said,  'And you, how much do you owe?"  He replied, 'One hundred kors of wheat.'  He said to him, ' Here is your promissory note; write one for eighty.'  And the master commended that dishonest steward for acting prudently.  "For the children of this world are more prudent in dealing with their own generation than are the children of light.

I tell you, make friends for yourselves with dishonest wealth, so that when it fails, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.  The person who is trustworthy in very small matters is also trustworthy in great ones;  and the person who is dishonest in very small matters is also dishonest in great ones.  If, therefore, you are not trustworthy with what belongs to another, who will give you what is yours?  No servant can serve tow masters.  He will either hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.  The Pharisees, who loved money, heard all these things and sneedred at him.  And he said to them, "You justify yourselves in the sight of others, but God knows your hearts; for what is of human esteem is an abomination in the sight of God.

Some Sadducees, those who deny that there is a resurrection, came forward and put this question to him, saying, "Teacher, Moses wrote for us, 'If someone's  brother dies leaving a wife but no child, his bronther must take the wife and raise up descendants for his brother.'  Now there were seven brothers; the first married a woman but died childless.  Then the second and the third married her, and likewise all the seven died childless.  finally the woman also died.  Now at the resurrection whose wife will that woman be?   For all seven had been married to her."  Jesus said to them, "The children of this age marry and remarry; but those who are deemed worthy to attain to the coming  age and to the resurrection of the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage.  They can no longer dies, for they are like angels;  and they are the children of God because they are the ones who will rise.  That the dead will rise even Moses made known in the passage about the bush, when he called 'Lord the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob;  and he is not God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive."

He said to his disciples, "Things that cause sin will inevitably occur, but woe to the person through whom they occur.  It would be better for him if a millstone were put around his neck and he be thrown into the  sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.  Be on your guard!  If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.  And if he wrongs you seven times in one day and returns to you seven times saying, 'I am sorry, 'you should forgive him."  And the apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith."  The Lord replied, "If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you would say to (this) mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea and it would obey you.

I know God has a purpose why He keeps me alive until today, one is because i've been praying for long life so i can see and be with my family as they grow up or grow old, second is because He gives me chance to repent myself and be good and serve Him through my brethren.  God's purpose probably to serve and more but i'm not sure if i'm living up to that, but i'm hoping at least the things i've done is in accordance to His will.  And yes i do believe in resurrection and the afterlife.

As i always saying, my faith is not that strong, there were moments that i'm so weak but i'm praying sincerely that hoping someday, i'll be more strong with Him. There's always different kind fulfillment and happiness if we do share wholeheartedly.  I know that at this point in time, to make ends meet is kind of difficult but that wont hinder us to help others because i know that though we suffering now, some of  our brothers and sisters have suffered the worst. Yes, we do help others even if it comes to a point that we have to hold our own needs.

He came to Jericho and intended to pass through the town.  Now a man there named Zacchaeus, who was a chief tax collector and also a wealthy man, was seeking to see who Jesus was; but he could not see him because of the crowd, for he was short in stature.  So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree in order to see Jesus, who was about to pass that way.  When he reached the place, Jesus looked up and said to him, "Zacchaeus, come down quickly, for today I must stay at your house."  And he came down quickly and received him with joy.  When they all saw this, they began to grumble, saying, "He has gone to stay at the house of a sinner."  But Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord, "Behold, half of my possessions, Lord, I shall give to the poor, and If I have extorted anything from anyone I shall repay it four times over."  And Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house because this man too is a descendant of Abraham.  For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save what was lost.

I cant begin and end a day without a prayer.I fully believe the power of prayer.I prove its power everyday.I always see how smooth a day to pass by when i had my prayer and entrusted everything to the Lord and notice the opposite when i didnt. Also through the power of prayer i receive answers of my desires, although they're not always answered exactly like what i asked that i sometimes feel unhappy but when i accept willingly,i later on see and learn the purpose of every asnwer.I strongly believe the power of prayer and have proven it when i was in my worst situation. When i was once a lost person, there were times i felt like i couldnt breath and felt seriously sick  because of too much drugs and alcohol on my body and everytime i felt that way,i prayed very sincerely while kept calling the Lord's name. The Lord gave me many chances because everytime i felt that way, i wanted to surrender and never do it again.Eventually, through the power of prayer, i have recovered.

Now as he approached Jericho a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging, and hearing a crowd going by, he inquired what was happening.  They told him, "Jesus of Nazareth is passing by."  He shouted, "The people walking in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent, but he kep calling out all the more,  Son of David, have pity on me!"  The people walking in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent, but he kept calling out all the more,  Son of David, have pity on me!"  Then Jesus stopped and ordered that he be brought to him; and when he came near, Jesus asked him, "What do you want me to do for you?"  He replied, "Lord, please let me see."  Jesus told him, "Have a sight; your faith has saved you."  He immediately received his sight and followed him, giving glory to God.  When they saw this, all the people gave praise to God.

When he reached the place, Jesus looked up and said to him,  "Zacchaeus, come down quickly, for today I must stay at your house."  And he came down quickly and recieve him with joy.  When they all saw this, they began to grumble, saying, "He has gone to stay at the house of a sinner."  But Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord, "Behold, half of my possessions, Lord, I shall give to the poor, and If I have extorted anything from anyone I shall repay if four times over."  And Jesus said so him, "Today salvation has come to this house because this man too is a descendant of Abraham.  For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save what was lost.

While they were listening to him speak, he proceeded to tell a parable because he was near Jerusalem and they thought that the kingdom of God would appear there immediately.  So he said,  " A nobleman went off to a distant country to obtain the kingship for himself and then to return.  He called ten of his servants and gave them ten gold coins and told them, ' Engage in trade with these until I return.'  His fellow citizens, however, despised him and sent a delegation after him to announce, 'We do not want this man to be our king.'  But when he returned after obtaining the kingship, he had the servants called, to whom he had given the money, to learn what they had gained by trading.  The first came forward and said, 'Sir, your gold coin has earned ten additional ones.'  He replied, Well done, good servant!  You have been faithful in this very small matter, take charge of ten cities.'  Then the second came and reported, 'Your gold coin, sir, has earned five more.'  And to this servant too he said,  'You, take charge the five cities.'  Then the other servant came and said, 'Sir, here is your gold coin, I kept it stored away in a handkerchief, for I was afraid of you, because you are a demanding person; you take up what you did not lay down and you harvest what you did not plant.'  He said to him, 'With your own words I shall condemn you, you wicked servant.  YOu knew I was  aa demanding person, taking up what  I did not lay down and harvesting what  I did not plant;  why did you not put my money in a bank?  Then on my return I would have collected it with interest.  And to those standing by he said,  'Take the gold coin from him and give it to the servant who has ten.'  But they said to him, 'Sir, he has ten gold coins.  ' I tell you, to everyone who has more will be given, but from the one who has not , even what he has will be taken away.  NOw as for those enemies of mine who did not want me as their king, bring them here and slay them beofre me.'  After he had said this, he proceeded on his jouney  up to Jerusalem.

Then he made the disciples get into the boat and precede him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds.  After doing so, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray.  When it was evening he was there alone.  Meanwhile the boat, already a few miles offshore, was bing tossed about by the waves, for the wind was agaist it.  during the fourth watch of the night, he came toward them, walking on the sea.  When the disciples saw him walking on the sea they were terrified.   "It is a ghost,"  they said, and they cried out in fear.  At once (Jesus) spoke to them, "Take courage, it is I;  do not be afraid."  Peter said to him in reply, "Lord if it is you, command me to come to you on the water."  He said, "Come."  Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on how strong the wind was he became frightened; and beginning to sink, he cried out, "Lord, save me!"  Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"  After they got into the boat, the wind died down, saying "Truly, lyou are the Son of God."

I used to help and maintain the holiness of our church by being an active member and a leader of our youth activities and organizations inside the church. We show to other youths and people outside the church that our church is a good example and hoping for them to be evangelized by what we do inside the church.

I was lost and here i am still overcoming. Now, if you see my church i am attending through me, I am just putting my church  into shame. To what i have done ,i dont think i'm helping my church's holiness. It's really hard to show or represent a church especially if you were a leader and have done evil things that destroyed the image of the church. However,i hope that what i've done wrong before will turn and serve as an inspiration and encouragement to people when they see a renewed and strong me.

Some Sadducees, those who deny that there is a resurrection, came forward and put this question to him, saying, "Teacher, MOses wrote for us, 'If someone's brother dies leaving a wife but no child, his brother must take the wife and raise up descendants for his brother.'  Now there were seven brothers; the first married a woman but died childless. They can no longer die, ro they are like angels; and they are the children of God because  they are the ones who will rise.  that the dead will rise even Moses made known in the passage about the bush, when he called 'Lord' the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob; and he is not God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.'  Some of the scribes said in reply, "Teacher, you have answered well."  And they no longer dared to ask him anything.

Saying thank you...was last night..for doing a favor for me...but saying i love you...no...in my mind i said it..but not in person...we're not used to uttering such words and its kinda awkward.  The reason why i practiced that with my kids...saying "i love you" as often as possible.

Jesus went around to all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and curing every disease and illness.  At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd.  Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest to send  out laborers for his harvest."    Then he summoned his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits to drive them out and to cure every disease and every illness."  Go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.  As you go, make this proclaimation;  The kingdom of heaven is at hand.'  Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, drive out demons.  Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give.

In those days John the Baptist appeared, preaching in the desert of Judea and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!"  It was of him that the Isaiah had spoken when he said:  "A voice of one crying out in the desert, 'Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths."  John wore clothing made of camel's hair and had a leather belt around his waist.  His food was locusts and wild honey.  At that time Jerusalem, all Judea, and the whole region around the Jordan were going out to him and were being baptized by him in the Jordan River as they acknowledged their sins.  When say many of the Pharisees and Sadduccees coming to his baptism, he said to them, "You brood of vipers!  Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?  Produce good fruit as evidence of your repentance.  And do not presume to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.'  For I tell you, God can raise up children to Abraham from these stones.  Even now the ax lies at the root of the trees. Therefore every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.  I am baptizing you with water, for repentance, but the one who is coming after me is mightier than I.  I am not worthy to carry his sandals.  He will baptize you with the holy Spirit and fire.  His winnowing fan is in his hand.  He will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into his barn, but the chaff he will burn wint unquenchable fire.

One day as Jesus was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there who had come from every village of Gallilee and Judea and Jerusalem, and the power of the Lord was with him for healing.  And some men brought on a stretcher a man who was paralyzed; they were trying to bring him in and set (him) in his presence.  But not finding a way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on the stretcher through the tiles into the middle in front of Jesus.  when he saw their faith, he said, "As for you, your sins are forgiven,"  Then the scribesa and Pharisees began to ask themselves, "Who is this who speaks blasphemies?  Who but God alone can forgive."  Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them in reply, "What are you thinking in your hearts?  Which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Rise and walk?  But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins"  -- he said to the man who was paralyzed, "I say to you, rise, pick up your stretcher, and go home."  He stood up immediately before them, picked up what he had been lying on, and went home, glorifying God.  Then astonishment seized them all and they glorified God, and, struck with awe, they said, "We have seen incredible things today."

There are times that i feel empty that i feel like something is missing in me which i can't tell.I feel sometimes very lonely and look for things that can fill me up.However, i always end up calling the Lord through prayer and find my self crying on His shoulder and I found out some things are to be done to fill me up,but through, I believe,God's revelation, the right time for my longings which i think causing me into emptiness feelings will be done in accordance to His purpose. What fills my emptiness, however,is my assurance that everything i long to make me contented will surely be granted.

If i base now from before, i can say yes, i am happy to see what i am doing right now which is a lot better than the past.

There are moments that i'm really so soft at heart when someone approached me, and without second thoughts, i'll help him or her to what i can afford to help.  There were moments too that i'm a bit hard...i dont know why, so i prayed and ask God for forgiveness for not helping Him.  It's difficult.

Yes, i am very blessed despite of trials and difficulties.  God is with me, that makes me very blessed.  God knows i am nothing without Him.

What seemingly impossible thing has God done in your life?

Despite of my sinfulness but still God blessed me tremendously to the point that i can say, i don't deserve to have this.  My family for one, my two wonderful kids, my parents, my brothers and sister who are always there ever ready to help one another.

And Mary said:  "My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;  my spirit rejoices in God my savior.  For he has looked upon his handmaid's lowliness; behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed.  The Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name.  His mercy is from age to age to those who fear him.  He has shown might with his arm, dispersed the arrogant of mind and heart.  He has thrown down the rulers from their thrones but lifted up the lowly.  The hungry he has filled with good things; the rich he has sent away empty.  He has helped Israel his servant, remembering his mercy, according to his promise to our fathers, to Abraham and to his descendants forever."  Mary remained with her about three months and then returned to her home.

So many great things that God has given us, first, for giving me a wonderful husband and children, my parents, my brothers and sisters, my brothers and sisters in CFC, for giving us the chance to serve Him, for the many blessings He has generously gave us, for loving us despite of our sinfulness, for being there as our protector, and many many many more. Just that there were so many things and i'm so thankful for all of that.

When the time arrived for Elizabeth to have her child she gave birth to a son.  Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown his great mercy toward her, and they rejoiced with her.  When they came on the eighth day to circumcise the child, they were going to call him Zechariah after his father, but his mother said in reply, "No.  He will be called JOhn."  But they answered her,  "There is no one among your relatives who has this name."  So they made signs, asking his father what he wished him to be called.  He asked for a tablet and wrote, "John is his name"  and all were amazed.  Immediately his mouth was opened, his tongue freed, and he spoke blessing God.  Then fear came upon all their neighbors, and all these Matters were discussed throughout the hill country of Judea.  All who heard these things took them to heart, saying, "What, then, will this child be?"  For surely the hand of the Lord was with him.

Then Zechariah his father, filled with the holy Spirit, prophesied, saying:  “Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, for he has visited and brought redemption to his people.  He has raised up a horn for our salvation within the house of David his servant, even as he promised through the mouth of his holy prophets from of old:  salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us, to show mercy to our fathers and to be mindful of his holy covenant and of the oath  he swore to Abraham our father, and to grant us that, rescued from the hand of enemies, without fear we might worship him in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.   And you, child, will be called prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the Lord, for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways, to give his people knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God by which the day break from on high will visit us to shine on those who sit in darkness and death’s shadow, to guide our feet into the path of peace

In the beginning was the Word, and the word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All things came to be through him, and without him nothing came to be.  What came to be through him was life, and this life was the light of the human race;  the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.  A man named John was sent from God.  He came for testimony, to testify to the light, so that all might believe through him.  The true light, but came to testify to the light.  The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world.  He was in the world, and the world came to be through him, but the world did not know him.  He came to what was his own, but his own people did not accept him.  But to those who did accept him he gave power to become children of God,  to those who believe in his name, who were born not by natural generation nor by human choice nor by a man’s decision but of God.  And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, and we saw his glory, the glory as of the Father’s only Son, full of grace and truth.  John testified to him and cried out, saying, “This was he of whom I said, ‘The one who is coming after me ranks ahead of me because he existed before me.’  From his fullness we have all received, grace in place of grace, because while the law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.  NO one has ever seen God.  The only Son, God, who is at the Father’s side, has revealed him.

When they had departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take  the child and his mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you.  Herod is going to search for the child  to destroy him.”  Joseph rose and took the child and his mother by night and departed for Egypt.  He stayed there until the death of Herod, that what the Lord had said through the prophet might be fulfilled “Out of Egypt I called my son.”  When Herod had died, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the child’s life are dead.”  He rose, took the child and his mother, and went to the land of Israel.  But when he heard that Archelaus was ruling over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid  to go back there.  And because he had been warned in a dream, he departed for the region of Galilee.  He went and dwelt in a town called Nazareth, so that what had been spoken through the prophets might be fulfilled, “  He shall  be called a Nazorean.”

So she ran and went to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and told them, "They have taken the Lord from the tomb, and we don't know where they put him."  So Peter and the other disciples went out and came to the tomb.  They both ran, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter and arrived at the tomb first;  he bent down and saw the burial cloths there, but did not go in.  When Simon Peter arrived after him, he went into the tomb and saw the burial cloths there, and the cloth that had covered his head, not with the burial cloths but rolled up in a separate place.  Then the other disciple also went in, the one who had arrived at the tomb first, and he saw and believed.

i would love to help them if i can........as they say, it's better always to give than to receive.

God is so good that He fulfilled anything that i deserved and it amazed me so much to have given the things that i dont deserve.
That is how God is sooo good.

Quote:

I'm trying to be good, i try to serve Him and my brethren, as my way of showing that i love Him and so that i can reciprocate the goodness He's been sharing with me and my family.

Most of the times i only have to do good, applying the adage, "actions speaks louder than voice".  Every person has his/her own mind, and so does my family.  Considering am the youngest, i'm a little bit hesitant to initiate on bringing them to Christ.  They do went to Church, but i know it won't be enough,  and i find it difficult to convince them to serve God.  Maybe God will call them sometime.

God can do anything with regards to my life, i just borrowed it, from time to time, i'm the driver which should not be the case, it's nice to trust Him fully.

When the days were complete for their purification according to the law of Moses, they took him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord, just as it is written in the law of the Lord, “Every male that opens the womb shall be consecrated to the Lord,”  and to offer the sacrifice of  “a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons,”  in accordance with the dictate in the law of the Lord.  Now there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon.  This man was righteous and devout, awaiting the consolation of Israel, and the  holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Messiah of the Lord.  He came in the Spirit into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus to perform the custom of the law in regard to him, he took him into his arms and blessed God, saying;  “Now, Master, you may let your servant go in peace, according to your word, for my eyes have seen your salvation, which you prepared in sight of all the peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and glory for your people Israel.”  The child’s father and mother were amazed at what was said about him; and Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, “Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be contradicted (and you yourself a sword will pierce)  so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

There was also a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of  Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher.  She was advanced in years, having lived seven years with her husband after her marriage, and then as a widow until she was eighty-four.  She never left the temple, but worshipped night and day with fasting and prayer.  And coming forward at that very time, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were awaiting the redemption of Jerusalem.  When they had fulfilled all the prescriptions of the law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own  town of Nazareth.  The child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom; and the favor of God was upon him.
