You're the eagle I must watch No matter what I do. You're the beauty, wild and free, The mistress of my eyes, Rolling through exultant air, Alone in pristine skies. I would take you for my own Could I but have your wings, Could I but go where night begins And frozen sunlight sings. Could I but have you for my love, How might we fly together! But I must watch you from below And long for you forever. But I must be the one below And long for you forever |

Title: Re: Ramblings of a mad scotsman Post by daviefaescotland on Nov 23rd, 2005, 3:25pm Love is like an iceberg in that Most is not observed. The deep part grinds against far shores No port has ever served. My feelings for you are beyond All words, all thoughts, all knowing. My love lies deep beneath my sea, With need and passion showing. But the bulk of it moves silently, Counting days in years. I think of you and suddenly My heart is wrenched with tears. I feel within me something huge, Unseen but lovely, move; I know I'm just a breath across This dark and awesome love |

Title: Re: Ramblings of a mad scotsman Post by daviefaescotland on Dec 9th, 2005, 7:28am My son was doin his modern studies homework, when he asked me to help him with this question. After reading his notes this is the conclusion i came up with, dont know lf its right or not but this is my interpretation of it. The question was what is your interpretation of the phrase in the bible that describes God as an omnipotent and benevolent deity? I understand the concept but there seems to be a contradiction.Contradiction is mans starvation, war, sickness, pain etc. Terrible things happen in our world.human tragedy seems like proof that God could not possibly be both all powerfull and well meaning. If he loves us and has the power to change our situation.he could prevent it from happening wouldnt he? So imagine you have a 8 year old son,you would love him and do everything in your power to prevent pain in his life.Would you let him skateboard knowing he could fall off and injure himself. As the childs father you would of course give him good advice on safety, but then let him go off and make his own mistakes and if he fell off and skinned his knee you would tell him to be more carefull. So although you have the power to interfere and prevent your childs pain you choose to show your love by lettin him learn his own lessons, pain is part of growing up,its how we learn. That was my interpretation of the question i hope its right or my son will get no marks. Anybody else got any views on the question post away please ;D |

Title: Re: Ramblings of a mad scotsman Post by okasantina on Dec 9th, 2005, 6:54pm Davie ...knock knock...may i join in ure blog? :D I remember when i was in College we have this subject in Theodicy.. somewhat a Theology but that was when i was in 3rd year .... Wherein An omniscient, omnipotent, omni-benevolent God would not allow his beloved children to suffer, and certainly not as often or as intensely as they do. A good God would not permit evils to relentlessly afflict human life within His creation. Its like .... supposed that the Gods have been wicked -- which sometimes provokes the response of punishing them in some way. God`s punishment ... like the calamities, hurricanes, typhoons..etc same as in ure 8 yr old kid...he may suffer from various difficulties..and as a father (Same as GOD) u may guide him not thoroughly helped him in many ways...ure kid must think and decide what is right and wrong...its some kind of a defense .... usually we can freely choose to improve our selves (souls) within a world that provides obstructions, pitfalls, dangers, temptations and so on.... In one way or another, all these suggest that an omni-benevolent God need not oppose the existence of any and all causes of human suffering. Instead, it is suggested that a perfectly good God will create the best of all possible worlds, (Like a perfect Father which can do anything just for his son`s sake ) and that the best of all possible worlds necessarily involves the existence of various types of evil. The freewill that we always excercise on our own is one way that GOD shows how he truly cares for us... These goods warrant the evils that they necessitate. So, upon careful analysis, we find that there is no inconsistency between the existence of the God and the presence of human suffering which tends to be the evilness because human suffering serves a central purpose in the best of all possible worlds. The purpose of us exisiting in this world has got something to do with the way we live in... Thats why we have our own knowledge to think what is bad and good...and when God tends to show the good one for sure there is the Evil to contradict... in this way there is the existence of power of will to ourselves...following the dicipline, awareness and control in thinkin good and reasonging the right one. :D I used to date my prof in Theodicy during my college days thats why i had a grade of 1 that time eh ;D [smiley=oops.gif] But i didnt know that in his age they can tackle those kinda serious subject...i wish ure son can understand it...cuz its truly complicated to discuss about GOD and EVIL ways... babayyyyyy :) |

Title: Re: Ramblings of a mad scotsman Post by daviefaescotland on Dec 17th, 2005, 11:17pm "Why'd the chicken cross the road?" MOSES: And God came down from the Heavens, and He said unto the Chicken, "Thou shalt cross the road!" And the chicken crossed the road, and there was much rejoicing. AGENT MULDER: You saw it cross the road with your own eyes. How many more chickens have to cross the road before you believe it? RICHARD M. NIXON: The chicken did not cross the road. I repeat, the chicken did NOT cross the road. JERRY SEINFELD: Why does anyone cross a road? I mean, why doesn't anyone ever think to ask, "What the heck was this chicken doing walking around all over the place, anyway?" FREUD: The fact that you are at all concerned that the chicken crossed the road reveals your underlying sexual insecurity. BILL GATES: I have just released the new Chicken Office 2000, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook. OLIVER STONE: The question is not, "Why did the chicken cross the road?" Rather, it is, "Who was crossing the road at the same time, whom we overlooked in our haste to observe the chicken crossing?" DARWIN: Chickens, over great periods of time, have been naturally selected in such a way that they are now genetically dispositioned to cross roads. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.: I envision a world where all chickens will be free to cross roads without having their motives called into question. GRANDPA: In my day, we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Someone told us that the chicken had crossed the road, and that was good enough for us. MACHIAVELLI: The point is that the chicken crossed the road. Who cares why? The end of crossing the road justifies whatever motive there was. EINSTEIN: Whether the chicken crossed the road or the road moved beneath the chicken depends upon your frame of reference. BUDDHA: Asking this questions denies your own chicken nature. RALPH WALDO EMERSON: The chicken did not cross the road; it transcended it. ERNEST HEMINGWAY: To die. In the rain. COLONEL SANDERS: I missed one? Passion is what makes you feel "in love" and is the feeling most associated with love. It also rises quickly and strongly influences and biases your judgment. Intimacy, the feeling close and connected to someone (developed through sharing and very good communications over time). Intimacy is what makes you want to share and offer emotional and material support to each other. Commitment, pledging to your self and each other to strengthen the feelings of love and to actively maintain the relationship. Commitment is what makes you want to be serious, have a serious relationship and promise to be there for the other person if things get tough. Love at first sight This is when we are overwhelmed by passion, without any intimacy or commitment (both of which take time). infatuated love :) |

Your touch arouses my senses as the moon arouses the night hold me and you will win me forever, in your arms you make all things right. Your heart endures all emotions as the sky endures the stars love me and we will have eternity, for there is no love greater than ours. :)for all the ladies :) |

Title: Re: Ramblings of a mad scotsman Post by daviefaescotland on Jan 27th, 2006, 2:02am WHATS IN A KISS? Sixty percent of blokes kiss because they feel that they ought to,not because they want to. Woman adore kissing and being kissed. Chaps go through the motions at the start of the relationship, just to get themselves past first base. Once they've had access to the ladies important little places, the kisses and smooches evaporate.Men are goal orientated .To them kissing is an irritating distraction from their final goal. Woman wallow in the intamacy of a kiss which if delicated executed, can be so much more erotic than rumpy pumpy itself. Note to the gents-try it. You might like it.And if you dont, she'll love it so much a few fringe benifits might come your way. ;) So lads pucker up close your eyes and enjoy. ;D |
