Title: Is it the END OF THE WORLD? Post by okasantina on Jul 24th, 2006, 9:23pm Come to think of it...Earthquakes, Big Floods, Volcanic Eruptions, Tsunamis, Wars, Dreadful Diseases, the Global Warming ......are all signs in the Book of Revelations.... How can we come up to this? Are we aware about whats happening around us? The awesome power of our own thoughts will confront us face to face...how can we face it if were not ready about it. Like most people, I generally think we live in a great society unparalleled in history. What is the future of cyberspace if the entire world and its current massive communications infrastructures will be devastated? Express ureself....tell something about it ;) |

Title: Re: Is it the END OF THE WORLD? Post by thebeast on Jul 25th, 2006, 12:33am Life is stressful enough to worry about stuff like that. If it happens it happens...if you try to prepare for it you will never have any fun at all. I understand these forces of nature are really not preventable anyway. So it is best just to deal with them as they come along and hope and pray that nothing is so severe that lots of people are hurt or killed. The end of the world.....I have enough to worry about dont trip me out on stuff like that. :-/ |

Title: Re: Is it the END OF THE WORLD? Post by Gracia on Jul 25th, 2006, 4:52am The world will end when it's time. I have no doubt about it. The calamities will often come and go and back. Sometimes wars can be settled too. It's time to join hands and ask God's mercy that hopefully all these are just passing scenes. While the world is still surviving, i might as well survive and enjoy the remaining days. There's no use being too cynical, it will only makes life's more miserable. |

Title: Re: Is it the END OF THE WORLD? Post by Wicked_Witch on Jul 27th, 2006, 9:18am I too would not like to dwell on things like that. I would like to think there is a scientific explanation for these natural calamities that befall each countries. Times are changing, the atmospheric conditions of the earth like the global warming is a more plausible explanation on why these things are happening. Wars are evil works though. So we should pray more strongly these days than we ever did in the past. |

Is repent can stop the world from being miserable? I guess its too difficult...just act being humble and god will surely appreciate it ;) :) |

Title: Re: Is it the END OF THE WORLD? Post by Wicked_Witch on Aug 3rd, 2006, 8:35am I don't think I'm that bad to live that long and I don't think I'm that good either that God would want to take me this soon. so I think I will go when He thinks it's time for me to go and not before. ;) Repent? I may have done a lot of things I am not proud of but I did what I had to do under the circumstances so no regret for me. |

Title: Re: Is it the END OF THE WORLD? Post by Kitch on Aug 3rd, 2006, 10:43am I don't know if I truly support the disponsationalist version of revelations, however this is truly a time of tramatic change...Many things happen now that could not happen in the ancient world...Like the whole world seeing something. I read studies of more Earth Quakes in this last decade then the previous hundred years, and something about the earth is loosing it's magnetic field and could be completely gone with in the next 100 years (making life here impossible) However I read reports saying the oposite. Just like Global warming. Every generation thinks that thiers is the last, and maybe ours is. From the rate of our development I don't see it being to much longer. This Century we went from hot air balloons to walking on the moon. Another hundred years we could be on other planets. And I don't think that man will have colonies on other planets when Jesus returns for everything is earth and heaven focused in revelations. I inticipate the return of the Lord, but will live without worry. |

Title: Re: Is it the END OF THE WORLD? Post by nOrKAy on Aug 4th, 2006, 7:19am Is it the end of the world? Ofcourse no one has an idea to say if it is or it isn't. But [since Tina mentioned about those signs stated in the Bible, let me also quote an answer from the Bible] it says in the Bible, in the book of 1Thessalonians 5:2 --"for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night." We know that when it says "day of the Lord", it means end of the world, since it's when the Lord comes to take His properties--everything. And will come like a thief in the night, which means , anytime and unexpectedly, either during peaceful time, happy time, busy time. Although those calamities were said as a sign of the end of world. However, I personally don't take this question to cark me, and pressure me to keep my life busy thinking of what I can do, of what I can finish thinking the end of the world might be tommorow or today. So, instead, I will just enjoy, do my best to maintain myself in good shape so that when the "go" signal is given, I will be ready to join the race and hopefully able to say, the race well done. Let me go further with same question related to this topic. Actually, this is like the "finish the line" that starts with "If you had one day to live..........". There's so much more to that question than most people think. No one can say with any certainty, what they would do if they knew they only had one day left to live. That's only a mere 24 hours. If put into that situation, I believe it would be way more stressful than anyone could imagine. You would be putting forth so much effort into doing what you think needs to be done before the end, that you probably wouldn't accomplish anything that actually should be done. Not to mention the single fact that you have just found out that you are going to die in one day. No one knows what the afterlife is like and the complexities of that alone are more than most can deal with in a single day. I mean, who do you call first? Who do you say you love the most? Who would you want to spend your last 24 hours with and be able to look back in your last 15 minutes and say that you know they were the right person to be with in your final hours? You would quickly find out who is truly important to you and who is just an aquaintance, not worth your short amount of time left in this world. Also, in my mind I think that the ultimate goal of anyone's last day to live should be to spend all of that time with a happy heart, a big smile on your face and no regrets. There should be no need to cry or be sad or think about what could have been because that would be truly wasteful. ""Live every day as if it were your last and then one day you'll be right." - H.H. Title: Re: Is it the END OF THE WORLD? Post by Wicked_Witch on Aug 4th, 2006, 5:00pm I have always wondered what's gonna happen when the worlds "ends". Will there be a total "makeover"? Will there be humans and animals again, trees, will the universe exist again? Come to think of it. Where did all these come from? Where is it going? Why was it created? How will it end? So many questions that only very few even bothered to find out. I will admit that I do not read the bible thouroughly as I should have so I need explanations to all these. |

Title: Re: Is it the END OF THE WORLD? Post by thebeast on Aug 5th, 2006, 1:36am I am not one to tie events that happen today to something like the end of the world approaching or something in revelations in the bible. These things have always happened since the beginning of time and how does anyone really know how many earthquakes and whatever else happened a million years ago. Yes they have theories and scientific information but no one can really say for sure. No one knows if it a signal from God. No one really knows why God lets stuff like that happen. To some degree we understand how it happens but are still learning more every day. I think earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricaines, typhoons and whatever else are very tragic events..but at the same time it is amazing to see that kind of natural nonmanmade forces of nature occur. Mother Nature is incredibly strong. Stronger than anything man can invent. Maybe thats just God showing us just how fragile our planet really is and how powerful he can be. It can even be said that God causes or lets Mother Nature do her thing to bring the human race as a people closer together. To help each other in a time of crisis. As a kid I can remember lots of tornadoes touching down in the city I was raised in. I remember my mother waking me up in the middle of the night and my whole family and next door neighbors getting inside the storm cellar in our back yard. There we were all cramped up in that cellar. All of us concerned about what was happening. All of us worried. And all of us closer together and concerned about each other and more than willing to help each other. I remember driving around after a tornado hit when I was in high school. I saw cows in trees, cows with fence posts in them, parts of metal barns wrapped in trees and a home totally destroyed and the house next to it without a dent in it. Amazed at what I was seeing and aksing myself why and how did that or this happen? In college I took an course as an elective that was weather related. It focused mostly on tornados. It interested me so much the next spring I joined a storm chasing team. We chased tornadoes in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska. It is something I will never forget. You may think it is a stupid thing to do and a tornado is nothing compared to an earthquake or typhoon. But we still dont know everything there is to know about a tornado or and earthquake or typhoon or whatever else Mother Nature conjures up. That is why the human race chases tornadoes, walks on volcanoes, camps out in typhoons and researches earthquakes while they are happening right under their feet...because the human race wants to know why. I imagine everyone of us has experienced Mother Natures forces at one time or another. And the pain and exileration from these forces. I know there is an end to this world coming one day...I hope not in my lifetime..so in the meantime live life and dont worry about something you have no control over. |

Title: Re: Is it the END OF THE WORLD? Post by Kitch on Aug 17th, 2006, 8:43am There is a school of thought that a lot of the bible reformers had, that the 666 in Revelations refers to Nero, because in number codes that his how you would spell his name in Greek and in Latin text the number displayed is 616 which would suggest that it would refer to Nero. So some of revelations could have happened in the first century. Some theologans believe Revelations happened in the first Century, I don't know if I buy that either but the bible does say the sign of the end of days is the Lords return. Like Krissy I will not worry about the end of days for I try to live my life pleasing to the Lord but I must admit there are a lot of areas I need to work on. and some days the struggles are harder. Yet if it is the End of days I welcome it, if not I welcome that as well. With the fighting in Lebanon and the chaos in IraQ is nothing new. since the beginning of the 20 Century there has been at least 100 countries in a state of war constantly. The only difference with what is going on now is The US is waving it's military might and not backing down like it did under a certain Democrat president. There will be wars and rumors of wars til the end of time. Even though I must admit I was nervous when I found out N Korea was testing missles and found out how close they got to Japan. Hitting Japan would have brought the United states into another conflict due to treaties with Japan. But if I was N Korea I don't think I would want to mess with Japan. Instead of worrying if this is the end I spend my time praying that the love of the Lord will shine through these trying times, so that people who have not been exposed to the Gospel of Jesus may be exposed to it. romans 8:28 and we know all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord according to his will. ( paraphrased from my faulty memory lol) Yet I think this should remind us to pray for the people of Islam from the terrorist to the innocent by stander. |

Title: Re: Is it the END OF THE WORLD? Post by Wicked_Witch on Aug 18th, 2006, 4:42pm I really find it hard to understand why people from all over the world has different beliefs on who the real God is, or which? Every religion has their own teachings. Some are against christian beliefs, even against the 10 Commandments. Does that make them a sinner in the eyes of Christians and Jesus? I only believe in one God, and that is Jesus. But what about the Holy Father? If he's Jesus' Father, then he's in the form of human and a male, right? But has anyone seen Him? Who can attest to what He really looks like? I have started to read the Bible years ago but the many names confuses me so I stopped. Now I merely listen to the Holy Gospel whenever I go to mass. It's easier. I may not remember the names but I remember what they did and what happened. |

I agree with you Edith...it is confusing. I also dont understand how a person can change from being a christian to a muslim or vice versa and even a christian to a jew or muslim to jew. I just dont know how a person can wake up one day and then say to themselves what faith they have had half of thier lives isnt true for them anymore? I am a christian...and I dont look at muslims or jews or hindus or whatever else as sinners. Who am I to call someone else a sinner? I dont even consider them to be wrong or right. I look at everyone as a human being. I will let God decide what or who is right or wrong. And as long as I am alive...I will accept anyone who is a human being as a human being trying to get through this thing called life regaurdless of his or her religious faith....except for those radicals that purposely kill innocent people for some warped political reason or religious statement. These people are not human beings at all. These are people who want to keep thier people and countries poor, dumb, and oppressed. These people are just plain evil. |

Yet dinosours dont have powers or abilities to discover how to prevent the striking...but now human went all through new technologies..so i guess there is nothing to worry about then.... ;D |
