Post by ReeBop on Sep 14th, 2007, 6:09pm I saw this article on LiveScience that changes the way psychologists look at depression and relationships. http://www.livescience.com/health/070604_depressed_married.html It was generally known that depressed people entering into a marriage could create problems for the match to succeed. Not so according to researchers. This new study has found quite the opposite and that depressed people getting married actually became much happier people. The question therefore is "why?". The researchers have concluded that “The depressed benefit more from a transition into marriage despite their having, on average, worse marital quality.” Let the discussion begin! If there's anyone who will risk his life to a depressed person and that being a depressed person herself is still adventurous of her future.. Being alone and depressed make life doubly miserable but once you get married, depression will ease up simply because you already have someone whom you can share your depression with or worst your sole outlet for release. It could also be that whatever be the cause of her depression might be put behind because new problems will pop up and who knows by this time...she wants to consider it as a challenge. Opps...am I talking hyperbole? Nyahahahaha! |

Title: Re: Depressed? Get Married! Post by mrs_nj on Dec 18th, 2008, 3:35am I disagree on this...if you get depress don't get married. Once you get married it everything changes. If I get depressed I work on my hobbies/crafts not married though. They will get more depress if the marriage doesn't work out. |
