Title: Stress
Post by mylane on Jan 11th, 2004, 8:42pm

Stress from work.. from problems arising from loved ones... etc and etc  ;D

How do you handle them? :)

Go on yahoo chat and just try to see everyone in the room, get booted, see bots, and get advertisements screwing up your screen.  That alone causes more stress and makes you forget about the stresses of work and home life.

stress is a sign that you take things too seriously, i think the best thing for stress.. smoking a joint and watching a good movie. if you disagree with smoking, have a few beers..  little in this world is worth being stressed over.

Agreeing with matt  ;D just go online and you won't remember what drove you insane.

Take a long shower & watch tv afterwards & tried to sleep early just to chill you out for the moment because sometimes you just can't do nothing about it so why stress out.

How stress sneakz on me?? ::) ???

Ailmentz like ztomach aches and muscle tension can be stress-related.  There are alzo wide range of otherz such az frequent urination, difficulty swallowing, skin rashez, and memory failure :o  I dont realize thiz screwed upz symptomz signal strezz and they wazte preciouz time digging for another physically bazed cauze ::) ???

Another reazon what i often dont realize iz that ive learned to squelch any emotional or physical reaction that would signal on needing to slow down... :-/

Soon after my eX and i got separated began to develop rashez on my armz, i changed all my soapz and detergentz and did zome extensive allergy testing but failed to come up with diagnoziz.  FInally i pointed thiz out to my doctor and made the connection that the problem was cauzed by stress! :o imagine???

So i started doing walking every morning...that time..., go out during lunch time, turn off the phone and television and the rashez usually goez away w the couple of hourz.... :D

To make sure you pick up on a more peculiar effects, keep an eye out for the afflctions mentioned previously, as well as migraines, back pain, and temperemental bowelz......

Now im zure how to handle stress nowl... ;D

Most people get stressed out mostly by putting things off that they have to do or don't want to do. They bury their head in the sand and just hope that it will go away on it's own...well it's not.

Personally, I like to write down all the things that I need to get done within the coming week or two. Then I will go and do a few things each day on that list. Pretty soon, I have a smaller list and less stress. Organization is the Key!!

Organization is the ultimate motivator. I just love to look at my list and cross things off that I have done that day. Soon enough I am actually LOOKING for things to write on my list. When that happens I have virtually no stress. I then take a couple of days off or even a week. I then do "Me" things. I go to the movies, I go shopping, play sports..whatever.

Take it from me...you can either HOPE all the things you have to do in Life go away...or you can get off your Azz and MAKE things go away.

Life is too short to put things off for long...and Stress becomes only a distant memory when you do the things that are within your reach.

But the things that are out of your control (Work, Taxes, Kids, Weather, Acts of God, and that Aunt who wants to hook you up with the "nice boy" who lives downstairs from her) ...Well your on Your Own Ehh!! [smiley=afro.gif]

Tired Feet??

One soothing fix:

Slather on Vicks Vaporub (Yes! the stuff u use for colds), put on socks, and sleep it off.  Also try the "sushi pedicure", based on a treatment from the Paint Shop Saloon in Beverly Hills.  Prepare a bath with warm water and one ounce sake, toss in some pickled ginger, and soak.  This mix eases aches and pains...hola!  ;D

Yell at your kids, yell at anything...just remember to apologize later. What I do after a long stressful day is take a hot bouble bath or jacuzzi bath followed by a cold shower. I think the heat relaxes and makes your body feel like a noodle but it also incresases your blood pressure so follow up with a cold shower to wake your muscles back up so you wont be stumbling around everywhere.

Title: 36 CHRISTIAN WAYS TO REDUCE STRESS
Post by Gracia on Jul 14th, 2006, 5:03am
An Angel says, "Never borrow from the future.  If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn't happen, you have worried in vain.  Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice."

1. Pray
2. Go to bed on time.
3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.
4. Say No to projects that won't fit into your time schedule, or that will
compromise your mental health.
5. Delegate tasks to capable others.
6. Simplify and unclutter your life.
7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too
many.)
8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.
9. Pace yourself.  Spread out big changes and difficult  projects over
time; don't lump the hard things all together.
10. Take one day at a time.
11. Separate worries from concerns.  If a situation is a concern, find out
what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety.  If you can't do
anything  about a situation, forget it.
12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for  ordinary
purchases.
13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key
buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.
14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut).  This single piece of ad-vice can prevent an
enormous amount of trouble.
15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.
16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.
17. Get enough rest.
18. Eat right.
19. Get organized so everything has its place.
20. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve    your quality of
life.
21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.
22. Every day, find time to be alone.
23. Having problems?  Talk to God on the spot.  Try to nip small problems
in the bud.  Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray.
24. Make friends with Godly people.
25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.
26. Remember that the shortest bridge between
despair and hope is often a good "Thank you Jesus."
27. Laugh.
28. Laugh some more!
29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.
30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).
31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most.
32. Sit on your ego.
33. Talk less; listen more.
34. Slow down.
35. Remind yourself that you are not the general
  manager of the universe.
35. Every night before bed, think of one thing you're grateful for that
you've never been grateful for before.  GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU.  "If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31)
