Title: Re: Do u go to the gym? Post by shastamcnasty on Jan 21st, 2004, 10:11am There's always time to go to the gym. I said the same thing for the last 3 months of last year. Then realized how much time i spent online "playing". No chat =plenty of time ;D I actually live .5 miles from a 24 hour gym that i have belonged to for 10 years and have a Dojo in my house. But surprising as it is. I had "no time" :P, So this year i am finding time agian ;D |

Title: Re: Do u go to the gym? Post by capricorn1971ad on Jan 24th, 2004, 6:31pm if you have a garage, why bother going to the gym? little is really needed to exercise, the only real exercise equiptment we have here is an inversion table, too bad you are only supposed to stay on it 2 minutes at a time, i enjoy that to much, is great for your sense of balance too, what else do you really need, some dumbells, a punching bag.. why bother with a gym? |

Title: Re: Do u go to the gym? Post by need4speed8dalejr on May 12th, 2004, 1:00am No...I don't go to the Gym, just no time. I have plans on putting in a small gym area in my future house, so that will make it alot easier to workout when I want and without all the BS that goes with the "gym scene". Title: Re: Do u go to the gym? Post by thebeast on Jun 18th, 2004, 6:49pm I was gonna join a gym, but I thought about it a while a while and Im gonna approach this 10 pounds I need to lose a little differently. First Im gonna lose the weight by just eating 2000 calories a day and doing aerobic stuff like running and riding my bike. Then after I lose this 10 pounds of beer on my belly I will go to the gym and pump some iron. If I went to the gym now I would just gain weight cuz muscle is heavier than fat. I dont really get into the body builder kind of look. Its to hard to find clothes that fit you comfortably when you got all the muscles. I go for leaness. You think 10 pounds would be easy to lose ha ha no its not. its hard to lose 10 pounds when you really are not that overweight. I have been running and riding my mountain bike every other day for about a month now and keeping my calorie intake during the week under 2000, and I have lost just 3 pounds, but I feel better and have more energy than I did before. Also I havent lifted a weight in 4 years and I know how all my muscles will be sore after I do it. I cant stand that feeling of soreness, especially in your legs and abdominal area. I would like to have a gym in my house. I have an extra room, but Im not sure how much I would use free weights and I dont know if it would be worth me purchasing something I would only use part of the time. What I do want is one of those devices that you get on and hang upside down on and it stretches your back and your legs. I would use that every morning. Next time I see that on the Shop at Home Network on tv I will buy one. |

Title: Re: Do You Go To The Gym? Post by Saffire_65 on Jul 16th, 2005, 2:53pm Well Joel to avoid soreness in your muscles is to do good stretching excercises after a work out. The problem is you guys do not know the importance of relaxing your muscles after every excercise. The sore feeling is because you have injured your muscles or not enough relaxation movement. I joined a gym months back and did aerobics, yoga, pilates. For every session our instructors will do some relaxation movement like stretching up the muscles to avoid soreness. I learnt alot from the instructors about proper exercising and health ;) |

Title: Re: Do You Go To The Gym? Post by NorKay on Aug 24th, 2005, 1:51pm No I don't go to the gym,at all. I am even lazy to step on this treadmill, which my father always complains from buying it ,because it's not in used again. But at least,it always helps whenever someone perturbs me about my butt getting really big. :P |

Title: Re: Do You Go To The Gym? Post by Justine on Aug 28th, 2005, 7:50pm I have had many attempts in going to the gym regularly. Aside from conflicts with work schedules, I would always find it boring following the gym instructors and counting every move I make. Turned out to be disappointing and just waste of money for me. I found a better alternative though to keep in shape. Walking at my convenience and playing badminton, which is a good way of catching up with friends too. |

Title: Re: Do You Go To The Gym? Post by chantiq on Aug 29th, 2005, 3:52pm Yes I go to the gym...and watch guys work out. Then I feel I have worked out too after 20 or so minutes and proceed to the spa which is a door down the hall from the gym area. Hahaha. It's a workout for the eyes, ano vah...Mind you its warm in the gym so I sweat a bit. When I do break a sweat then it's time for a massage :P |

Title: Re: Do You Go To The Gym? Post by Wicked_Witch on Dec 5th, 2005, 7:00am I have started going to the gym a month ago. I used to jog a lot every morning. But after a pancrea operation I was forced to stop. Since then I have gained more weight than I care to have. One day I woke up and all my pants and dresses just don't fit anymore. And I do not want to go back jogging coz the friends I used to jog with have now enrolled at badminton and tennis classes. So now I simply go to the gym and do some weight lifting and aerobic dancing. I go everyday for two hours. And I always go during lunchtime so I can avoid lunch and too not too many people are around the gym at that time. |

Tina can you take a few of those before and after pics like you see on all the commercials and post them in the pics thread. :P Winter is ending and my hibernation will be over so I will start to run again and lose this excess 3 or 4 inches of beer, cokes, and foods with an incredible amount of carbohydrates in them, that is around my waist. Plus I got my yearly physical with my Doc coming up in March and I told my doc i would be 15 pounds lighter due to my blood sugar...not because I overweight. Anyway Tina if you do the before after pics I will also ;D |
