Title: The Sopranos Post by capricorn1971ad on Jan 4th, 2004, 11:52pm in may the sopranos will be back on HBO for season 5, about time, i am going through withdrawal, i seen every episode at least 3 times already, how many others out there are waiting patiently to see tony in action again? my favorite episode personally was episode 26 "funhouse" where tony comes to the realisation that he has to kill his buddy "big pussy" and suffers through food poisoning, with lots of weird and crazy dreams, like who but the writer of the sopranos, would take a main character, have him with his friends, talking about they had 6 months to live, and their friends saying how impressed they were that he wanted to light himself on fire with gasoline and doing it in the dream, that was twisted. and they couldnt give tony 20 mill for a year? that is almost 13 hours of video for one season, i think gandofini deserved the 20.. anyone else have a fave episode? |

Title: Re: the sopranos Post by thebeast on Jan 13th, 2004, 3:17pm Cap, I got the first 4 seasons on dvd. Im like u it seems like ive been waiting forever. Im gonna have to watch season 4 again just to remember what had happened. I think the last episode Carmela was finally feed up with Tonys ways and thinking of a divorce and making him leave the house. Carmela was also stealing cash out of Tonys stash hidden out by the pool. Any way my favorite episode is episode 11 of the 3rd season called Pine Barrens. It was a real funny episode. Chris and Pauli Walnuts get lost in the forest somewhere outside of New Jersy while trying to kill the russian mob guy. They never found his body. I wonder if that mistake will come up in Season 5. |
||||||
Title: Re: the sopranos Post by capricorn1971ad on Jan 16th, 2004, 3:11am yeah pine barrens was a good episode too, so was # 40 (for all depts public and private) chris is deffinatly a favorite character for me, pauly was good too, and together they make a hell of a team. i have seen the whole series a few times, and could watch em all again, i think it is the best cable series ever made, i think that gandofini was worth the 20 mill a year myself, think about tom cruise doing a 2 hour show he gets that, and then you got gandolfini, he has to be in 13 hours of a series for the same amount, really aint fair. i think the new season starting in march will definatly be a turning point, now that he has gotten rid of "whitecaps" and carmella is ragging. should be a great season, but the one thing about it that bothers me, less and less killing each series.. |

Title: Re: the sopranos Post by thebeast on Feb 7th, 2004, 11:39pm Hey u remember when chris was just made a boss and poulie and i think it was furio came over to chris apartment to hastle him for money. They started to look through everyting for some money. And Paulie was looking through Adriana panties and chris saw him smelling her underwear. LOL man that was funny. My favorite character has to be Paulie Walnuts. He is a whiner at times, but he does some funny stuff. |

Title: Re: the sopranos Post by thebeast on Apr 4th, 2004, 3:29pm Well seen the first 3 episodes for season 5. Kinda disapointed with the first 2. 3rd one was good. I wonder what Tony will do now that his Anthony is living with him. Carmela is happy to get him out of her hair. He is driving her crazy. Carmela is so worried that her son Anthony will follow in her husbands footsteps. Now that the Boss in NYC is dead there is a power struggle. Me thinks a war is fixing to brew. Im kinda disapointed in Steve Buscemi's character called Tony Blundetto. Tony Blundetto is new this season. He just got out of prison and he is Tony Sopranos cousin and Tony loves him very much. But this character doesnt want to get back in the mob. He wants to stay away and start a new life as a massage therapist lol. He is giving all the mob dudes massages and this pisses Tony off. lol Well if anyone else watches this. Post some of your opinions and let me know your favorite characters. :) |

Title: Re: the sopranos Post by need4speed8dalejr on May 8th, 2004, 2:23am The Sopranos is the best show on TV. Period!! The show operates on so many different levels. The only other show that is on the same level IMHO is The Simpsons, in terms of hidden meanings and references. I took way too many film courses in University, and there are alot of stylistic points that throw a different perspective with each new episode. For instance just take the last episode (Unidentified Black Males #61). Here are three quick things that may or may not go unnoticed by the casual viewer. The use of Baseball throughtout the episode as a metaphor for Homosexuality. While there was blatant homosexual activity in this episode, there was also the ever-present theme of baseball to hint at the activity. All these guys with bats and balls. it is a clear example of the subtule undertones of complexity within each episode. The second was the air conditioner that was not working properly in Meadow's appartment in NYC. The air conditioner was slowly on it's last legs, using up it's last bit of energy and very close to the end of it's life. That mirrors the declining relationship of Meadow and her BF Fin Detrolio. At the apex of the breakdown in their relationship, the air conditioner was put out of it's misery with a little help from Fin, marking a low point in the relationship. The last one is a simple good vs. evil camera play. Ever notice that when Tony is in Dr. Melfies office they always try to shoot the scene with the light shining in from a window behind Melfi, and they always shoot Tony with the darker backdrop of the wood planelling. That is a classic good vs evil camera angle. White=good and Black or dark=evil. Watch next time they are together, you'll notice it. Now you might say that's just coincidence, believe me nothing is ever done without thinking about it. Nothing. Tony even had on black clothes and Dr. Melfi was wearing white to further accent the difference. Well enough about the inner workings of the show. Dang, my education did come in handy for something. Anyway, I will post more later. [smiley=icon_drink2.gif] |

Title: Re: the sopranos Post by need4speed8dalejr on May 8th, 2004, 3:07am To respond to earlier comments that the show has "gone downhill", I agree. While The Sopranos is still the best show around, they do tend to get into too many sub-plots and not enough time spent on the Mob part of the show. I sent an email to HBO after the third episode about this problem. I told them that I waited how many months for this stuff?? I told them exactly what alot of other people were thinking about the lack of blood n muscle in the show. While I do still find the show very good, it just hasn't lived up to the image it created in the first season where there was a major event in almost every show. Ahhh how I long for those days again. I can always go back with the help of DVD's. Let's see, my favorite episode was Season 3's # 32 "University". I just loved the feel of that show, how the opening music and scene intertwined perfectly with the story, bending your mind, molding your senses and then destroying any notions this one was gonna be anything ordinary. I also really like #37 "Pine Barrens" another great one from Season 3. The story starts off slow and plodding, then takes such unexpected and unusal twists and turns that come from no where to weave such a masterpiece that I love to watch over and over again. This one's not over folks. I am sure he will "crawl out from under a rock" soon. I can't wait. While I would think it goes without saying that I love Season 1 the most. Very cool stuff. I also liked the fifth episode of Season 5, #57 "Irregular Around the Margins". That one scene with Tony and Christopher, when Tony has a gun to Chris's head on the abandoned road. Tony says to him, "either you tell me now that you can take it into your heart that I never did this sh*t.......or we've come as far as we can together". I almost fell off the sofa when I watched that scene. VERY powerfull stuff. Amazing intensity. It gave me chills. Dang. Well, sorry if you haven't seen these episodes yet, but I just thought I would throw some of what I thought about the show out there. :D |

Title: Re: the sopranos Post by need4speed8dalejr on May 8th, 2004, 3:35am I also wanted to comment on some of the great looking women on the show. [smiley=heartbeat.gif] I think that Annabella Sciorra who played "Gloria Trillo" was the hottest thing going. She is sooo perfect. Dang!! I also think that Tony's newest GF is very hot too. Her name on the show is "Valentina La Paz". Not sure what her real name is...but she can sell me a painting any time!! Tony has good taste, and anyone who thinks he didn't pick them himself is out to lunch. I heard somewhere that he likes to take polaroids of all the chicks asses that he meets. I would like to get a look at those photo albums. I also think that Drea De Matteo who plays "Adriana La Cerva" is pretty hot as well. I also find that Jamie-Lynn Discala who plays "Meadow Soprano" can look hot or just ok in some episodes. Maybe that's just me thou. LOL. I also thought the young latin chick in the most recent episode who is the daughter of the construction boss is soooo hot!! I only know her as "Patricia" on the show. With her long dark hair, and her long legs...ohhhh weee!! :o Just a few other comments on different characters. Did anyone notice that Tony Soprano's new driver is none other that Tony Siragusa(SP)?? He was a lineman for the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL a few yrs ago. He hasn't really had any lines in the show, but he first appeared when Tony and Christopher had there problem in episode #57. I also think that the addition of Steve Buscemi who plays "Tony Blundetto" in the show, was going to be a good thing. Now I am not so sure. His character started really slow, and quite frankly I thought the character of "Feetch La Mana" was a stronger addition. Maybe I just long for more action in the show, so any more sub-plots with marginal violence just doesn't go over well with me. I am waiting for the next episode #62 "Cold Cuts" this Sunday and longing for a harder edge. Ohh well, whatever happens I will still watch, I am forever hooked. [smiley=icon_worship.gif] |

Title: Re: the sopranos Post by thebeast on May 9th, 2004, 1:45am This past weeks episode was good and the one coming up on sunday looks good also. Thats the good thing about this series. Each episode gets better as it goes along. Its just like a soap opra but with bad language and violence and lots better acting. For instance i couldnt stand Steve Buscemi's character at first. Well he is back in the family now and he is probably the most hungry now. And as far as the women in the sopranos go. I wanna say that Tonys wife, Carmella(Edie Falco) has got the best butt i have ever seen. Cap they showed Carmelas bare ass a few weeks ago.lol If they would show carmelas bare ass in every episode the ratings would go off the chart. Meadow is attractive as well. Adrianna is hot, but she wears way to much make up, but that is probably typical for Italian women. Its been said the sorpranos is the most realistic mob story told, even more real then the Godfather films. The most realistic has to be Goodfellas cuz that is a true story. Anyway need4speed u need to check out HBOs newest series called Deadwood. Im getting to where i like it better than the sopronos. |
||||||
Title: Re: the sopranos Post by need4speed8dalejr on May 10th, 2004, 1:54am Beast, I also noticed Carmela's ass as well. I really think that Carmela looks an awful lot like a younger "pay for play" movie actress called "August". She is the BOMB!! And if you just squint and imagine August the same age as Carmela, then they would look very similar I would think. Ohh, and August has the most amazing butt!! [smiley=love2.gif] But I digress. I just finished watching the latest episode #62 "Cold Cuts". I wasn't that impressed with it. No violence, and another helping of advancing sub-plots. No real moments of intensity or importance. I wonder sometimes if the writers and directors notice or care that the season is just only 13 episodes long. IMHO there is just not enough time for drudging through episode after episode of nothing but "relationship building". Call me jaded, but if the season was 20 or more episodes long then all the relationship BS would be acceptable, but if this keeps up, they will have to rename the show to "The Sleep-ranos". Just don't forget to wake me when it's over. I really feel like the writers need to do something with all the older characters. They are always adding new characters, which leave the older characters (Silvio Dante, Paulie Walnuts, Patsy Parisi) no real storyline of their own. That's like buying a new shovel when you already have a perfectly good one out in the shed. They need to get those guys working in more Mob related issues. Just a thought. I do accept the view that The Sopranos is the most realistic portrayal of the inner workings of "The Family". I would think that's because of the level of detail the characters go into. They all have their quirks and distinct little personality traits that involve everyday problems that we all have to deal and go through. And if the HBO talk is right (season 6), that will contain only 13 episodes to end the series run. That doesn't leave alot of time for whacking this guy, and blowing up that guy. I say "get started right now guys". No need to waste time and bullets on chartacters who won't be back on the tube. I would also guess that after the next and supposed last season, there will be a silver screen Sopranos movie made. I can just see the title now, "The Sopranos...The Final Hit" 1, 2, & 3. Another cash cow must not go untouched and force fed to us hungry viewers who already have a stomach full of under cooked meat, that gives us nothing but a nasty ulser and a terminal case of hemmoroids. But hey...that's just one guys oppinion. As for "Deadwood", I will give it a watch. I do hate to jump on board a moving ship midway through it's voyage. |

Title: Re: the sopranos Post by capricorn1971ad on May 10th, 2004, 5:48pm well damn beast, imma raid your couch for the sopranos when i hit texas ;D dont forget my beer :D but seriously, is about time to see if anyone has put em on kaza, i am at least 9 episods behind now ??? they must be really cranking them out after that long ass wait.. i miss my show >:( sopranos was the only thing i had to get me in front of the TV really, ill have to check out deadwood i guess as well, i watched oz a coupel times, but the homosexual content was a little too much, i find it disgusting, well to each their own i guess.. whats deadwood about anyways? a western? sounds like black hills area, like sturgis / leeds / deadwood area of the black hills, where Wild Bill Hiccock was shot and killed by Jack McCall |

Title: Re: the sopranos Post by need4speed8dalejr on May 16th, 2004, 10:15pm I just finished watching episode #63 "Test Dream". My apologies to anyone who hasn't watched this episode yet...sorry. Well, where do I begin? This one's such a mental puzzle of intertwined feelings and emotions that it totally screwed me up. Seriously...anyone who watched this episode is still scratching your head and knows exactly what I am refering to. I am going to watch it again in a few minutes to see if anything jumps out at me. I fully believe that this episode holds alot of keys to the emotional roadmap that awaits just under the enigma that is Tony Soprano's mind. I only wish they would publish the "Cliff's Notes" on this one, seriously. ??? |

Title: Re: the sopranos Post by need4speed8dalejr on May 24th, 2004, 1:56am I watched episode # 64 "Long Term Parking". Again, if you haven't watched this one yet, sorry. I won't talk about specific events, so it will still be a surprise when you watch it, can't stand knowing what will happen before I watch it. :P This episode was pretty good. It advanced some key plot-lines, and resolved a couple as well. I can now see a clearer picture of what is to come. I really think they are running out of episodes, and some things are just driving me crazy, and wish they would just rap things up, instead of dragging things out so much. I am not talking about the major things going on, but some of the smaller stuff. :-/ This episode had a twist of sorts. Dang I wish I could say what happened. You can kinda see this coming, so it's not a surprise. Isn't this the second to last episode? I hope not, because it might be another couple of years untill they come back for the final season. [smiley=wall.gif] |

Title: Re: the sopranos Post by need4speed8dalejr on Jun 9th, 2004, 9:21pm I watched Episode 65 All Due Respect, the season 5 finale. I am not impressed at all. >:( First, I was under the impression that this was going to be an hour and a half episode like Season 4's final episode, but it was only an hour. And nothing much happened. I might be understating things a bit. Things do happen, but nothing special. Maybe I was spoiled with the intense Whitecaps Season 4 finale. Well we all were. I can't help but feel let down by Season 5. The writing is getting more and more embedded with kids and personal issues, and less of a Mob bussiness agenda. I think the whole cast and crew should be forced to watch Goodfellas & Casino over and over for a week untill they fully understand what they are supposed to be doing. Now I guess we have to wait another two years for the last Season of The Sopranos, but if they keep on with this mild mob crap, they can save their time and money, because so many people have given up on this series. |

Title: Re: the sopranos Post by thebeast on Jun 10th, 2004, 12:26am Well the sky is the limit now for Tony Soprano. Gonna have to wait to find out just how far he goes. Im like you need4speed. I wanted to see New York and New Jersy duke it out. Now that the Feds got Johnny Sack and Tony B. has a face full of buckshot, Tony Sopranos biggest headaches are gone, the future looks bright for Tony S. There is a whole range of plots now for this series. Im sure Tony S will feel guilt about putting all that buckshot in Tony Bs face. His own cousin. Dr Melfi will have her hands full. Personally, I think Tony S should of put a bullet in his sons character Anthony Jr.. I could never stand Anthony. The kid is such a pussy. He thinks he is all hot stuff now just cuz he made 300 dollars by throwing a party. If I was Tony, I would of put a bullet in him instead. Its gonna cause him a lot less heartache latter on. Tony S is a lucky basturd. He got his wife back, Johnny Sack is in jail, and he is still alive after all the crap that his cousins Tony S. and Christopher put him through. I knew it was just a matter of time b4 Chris gf/fiance got wacked. She should of split right after they picked her up the first time. Funny how Chris was gonna rat on everyone to save his ass and go into the witness protection program and then went out to get some cigarettes and saw the family of drifters at the convinence store and realized the witness protection program was no life for him. Chris is a cold hearted son of a bitch but he isnt stupid. He called Uncle Tony and Tony nipped it in the bud. Anyway I hope its not another 2 years. |

Title: Re: The Sopranos Post by Need4Speed8DaleJr on Apr 23rd, 2005, 9:22am Here is the Latest News about the HBO Series "The Sopranos" from Entertainment Weekly. It's been nearly a year since the last season of The Sopranos ended, and Michael Imperioli is ready to get back to work when Season 6 begins production on April 29. In fact, said the actor known for his role as Christopher, he'd be willing to do a seventh season as well, and suggested Tuesday that series creator Davis Chase might be up for more episodes as well. Though Chase has said that the forthcoming season will be the last for the popular HBO series, Imperioli reminded reporters during a conference call that Chase had said the same thing about the fifth season as well. "I heard a month ago that we were doing a seventh season, and then I heard we're NOT doing a seventh season," he said. "The last time I saw David, he was on the fence." As for the possibility of additional Sopranos seasons, Imperioli said, "Would I like it to go on? Yeah. As long as the stories are good, I could do it for another few years."Of course, he doesn't know how long Christopher (or any of the other characters) can survive without getting whacked, as with the memorable demise of Christopher's snitching fiancée Adriana (Drea De Matteo) last season. "I've always thought the story's going to end tragically - for all of us," the actor said. "I don't think it's going to be pretty." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ohhh...I just can't WAIT!! The Sixth season is set to air sometime in 2006, Ohh...That's sooooo far away. I go through these Sopranos withdrawl cravings every once in awhile. I just pop in a DVD...and voila....*ahhhh...Sigh* Back in Jersey once again! ;D |

My LONG suffering SOPRANOS Withdrawl will finally come to an end Tomorrow night (Sunday March 12th)with the Premier of the Much Anticipated 6th Season's First Episode! Ahhh...How I love to Park My Carcass on the sofa each and every night the past month with baited breath...Eyes Glued firmly on Tony Soprano and his "Mob" Disciples as they Re-Write the very definition of Cool. My Movie Network plays two back-to-back Episodes from Season's 1-5...and I have seen them all many times before and know half the lines by Heart...but it doesn't matter...I am Forever drawn in by Tony Soprano. *Sigh* Ahhhhhhh.... One More Night Baby...One More Night. |

Title: Re: The Sopranos Post by thebeast on Mar 29th, 2006, 3:25am Same here need. Tony isnt such a bad guy. I wonder what he is gonna do now that he is out of his coma? LOL poor uncle junior. His alzheimers finally got the best of him when he shot Tony in the stomach. And Tonys son, Anothony Junior..he has got to be the dumbest kid in the world. Tony just needs to bring him into the family business. He not smart enough to do anything else. Anyway I will be watching it every Sunday at 8pm and then after that I watch this new series thats called Big Love. Its pretty good also. HBO has the best series on television today in my opinion. The have the ability to show lots of stuff you cant see on CBS, ABC, and NBC. I just wish they not take so long between seasons. |

I sure hope Tony is going to lay some SMACK DOWN again. He seems to have mellowed, since he settled with Johnny Sack about the Barone Sanitation issue last Episode. But that may have been the smartest thing to do. He isn't 100% and why rock the boat over something that in the Big Picture is pretty small. In the Negotiations he kept his W2 and the paycheck, which was the most important thing to Tony. Quote:
Ohh I couldn't have said it better. Anthony Jr has to be the most USELESS kid in the WORLD. He needs to be Bitch-Slapped each and every day. I think the best thing that could have happened to him would of been if Tony sent his azz to Military School . That would of whipped him into shape pretty quick. I can see something happening to that kid just like what happened to Jackie Jr. Jackie wanted to be a Big Shot, but was too dumb and look what happened to him, he was gunned down in some Housing Project because he shot a Made Guy. I thought that when Tony was shot it would have woken Anthony Jr up, and maybe....just maybe he would smartened up, but Nah...it only made it worse. Anthony couldn't even put Two-and-Two together when word got around that he was trying to buy a gun. He has NO CLUE about how things work in the Underworld. Quote:
Yah, I agree. HBO is the best Network out there. They create and produce some very good programs. They make TONS of cash when other Networks around the World buy the rights to re-broadcast these shows. I think that could speed things up as well, I hate waiting so long for each Season. I think the reason they only have a Season every 18 months or so is the writing is so good they make a month to write every episode. I know that David Chase (Creator and Executive Producer of The Sopranos) re-writes alot of scenes and works closely with the directors of each episode and makes sure that each one flows smoothly from week to week. But in all Honesty, this is the 6th Season, and it has been 7 years since The Sopranos first started. (1999-2006) so they are averaging one Season every Year or so, I can deal with that. |
