Title: Announcement: For the moderators and members
Post by Forum Admin on Oct 28th, 2004, 2:27am
I would like to advise all the moderators to close all the threads that has a maximum of 20 pages. You can start a same thread or title just make sure put the words Part 2.

This new rules will make the posting more easier and the same time make the page to upload faster.

As for the members, don't be suprised if suddenly some threads have been closed.

Thanks.

I cant imagine what i really feel right now!  After all i gave my best eventhough how busy i am or whenever i am... I still make it assure i keep the topics intact. I guess maybe sometimes im not that attentive. I just feel stupid. Not knowing about anything ... tra lala whats happening.  A single memo saying hey Tina! whatever.....Anyway ive already decided to resign on all the thread i am being moderator. Anyway i am that busy i think.  Cannot keep the thread clean.  Is cleaning different from removing? Is that what u called cleaning? or making the topic more alive and active cuz they are not seen by other members.... what is the role of being a moderator. Geesh! wherever i am ... i am thankful i have my laptap so that anywhere i am i can keep on posting here ... anyway Dales deserve it, he will keep the threads clean. Keep it up Dales.

To the Forum Administrator. Only thing i can say is i keep my heart in here... and u know how we started. I just dont like being passed by....I felt mad at first, but what can i do?  Im just kinda dissapointed.  Anyway its better to be the member i think. I will still continue posting ... i love this forum. I wish there are some rules regarding on handling the threads here....Its not only me who is inactive as what they say.  :'(

Thanks.

Contiguous  4  months of inactivity is my waiting period before I close a blog thread. Any friends of Tina who is  still in touch  with her, please tell her this. Her blog has been inactive for almost 4 months and it will be closed on  July 18.  I  need to know if she's coming back or not...

Ohh Gracia.....I Can't. I only have the Admin. Functions for the Sections I Moderate. Sorry. Besides I would never dream of removing any Threads in your section....I think you should make the decisions about which ones should be Closed....err...Retired. Go Get'Em Gal!

But.....It's Really easy and I can tell you how to do it.

First....Go to your section. Then click on the Thread you want to remove or change.

Second....I post a message saying that the thread is closed, and that way if there are any problems the other members know who closed the thread, you can skip this step if you want because it does take some time to post all those messages.

Third....I go to the bottom of the Thread...and there you will find all your important Moderator Function Buttons. Just click on the "Lock/Unlock Topic" Button...See it? This makes sure that once you have closed the Thread no one can mess with it.

Next...Go back into the Thread and go to the bottom of the page where your Moderator Function Buttons are located. Click on the "Move Topic" Button....See it? A new page will come up. There you can move the Thread to any section you want. The "Best & Closed Threads" section is at the bottom of the list. Just click on it...and then the send Button.

Next the whole thread will jump into the Best & Closed Section. You will have to click on "Home" to get back to your section.

Finally once you go back to your section, you must click on the same thread you just moved. It will say that the thread was moved. Just go to the bottom of the post and using your Moderator Buttons click on "Remove Topic".

Taaaaaa-Daaaaaaa!! Your done! You have to repeat this for each Thread you want to move. I know...I know...That could take awhile.

If you have anymore Questions...or you need more advice just post or send me a PM and I will be more than Happy to Help Ya Out.     ;D

As a Contributing Member and as a Moderator here on FreeWorld....

I would just like to say Offically on the Record to some of our Newer Members that your use of this board to "Flood" Post or to submit multiple posts in a row in the same thread is not an acceptable method of Posting. Please post in a responsible manner and allow for other Members to respond to your post and/or Thread before you Post again. Please repect the rules and other Members of this board and after being aware of the etiquette, any multiple posts in the same thread without Valid Reason will be Deleted.

While some recent Members might be used to the "Yahoo" or AC1 way to communicate within an open Forum, here at FreeWorld you must allow everyone the same chance to respond and post their views, because all the members are not present at the same time here at FreeWorld like they are when you are in the Yahoo Chat Rooms, and you may have to wait for a Response.

Thank You for your Cooperation and Have Fun Posting.

To the Administrators,Moderators and Members,

After my recent posts under "Goverment and Politics" and "Love and Marriage", I have learned that I was or still am being talked outside of this message board.I have received a private message from one of the members,KILLERABBITWIFLONGSHARPTEETH.I have been addressed as rude, because of my posts.I was filled of consternation after hearing it,however, I tried to find out how I came out to be rude with my posts.I dissented, but he also mentioned that NOT ONLY him who thinks I am rude, but OTHERS THINK AND AGREE AS WELL,so, I calmed down and tried to learn about everything.

I couldn't just brush aside,RUDE is a very heavy word to me.

Thus, since not only one person who said I'm rude,I am asking you all to help me on this, especially the administrators.I am sure all posts are being monitored,so,please I would like to ask your reply on this and let me know if I truely have been rude with my posts in this message board and before I do what I suppose to do,if I should apologize or make some explainations to the concerned people.

Thank you,
Kris

Politics can bring out the worst debating behavior in all of us.  Battle out with facts and credibility. A forum debate is nothing more than a mix of decent argumentative college-level critical reading & composition class essays.  State a fact, rebut, and rebut rebuttals. Back them up; cite them if you can.

Yes the Government and Politics section is being monitored by Kimmy and I. We also talked about being strict when it comes to off topics in that category. As all of you can see, we are not really strict when  it comes to off topics in other sections of this board. But when it comes to government and politics, I don't think that we can allow too much off topics on that area.

As for the love and marriage, I'm not aware of any bad things going on there because I know if there is any, then Dale will immediately make a necessary action.

We don't know where that RUDE word came from, but one thing I will assure you that it never came from the management of this board or from the other moderators. All moderators here that we assigned to every category have an objective viewpoint and won't judge a member or members in a subjective way.

One thing that we have to put in our mind is that we cannot please everybody. Maybe what is right for us is not cool to other people. I cannot speak for the rest. All I want for all the members/moderators is to follow the rules.

Anyway, I would advise you guys to discuss any personal matter in private.

Thank you.

Thank you for the reply Miss Administrator.I really hope there's no problem.Maybe it was just a sort of misunderstanding of one's way of expressing his/her thoughts, wrong way of addressing words,so with, wrong usage of words.

(May I continue)
I do believe ,however, that it is in the small ways we relate to each other, either it's done inaccurately or in the right way, that we build our relationships with each other and realize our common humanity.I understand that we are essentially ignorant in actually knowing each other or another's life, but communicating by all kinds of communication in different ways,is the basic way we relate to each other and know at least something about each other -- either in a nice, patient, calm, rude, nasty, vocal, straight, harmful, heavy, light etc. way.

Thank you
