Sat down with the head of WROX Press with my sales rep over Heinekens and chili and described Linux with them for 90 minutes. They sold a lot of those books and still do...funny how Prentice Hall dismissed Linux as a toy back then....wouldn't listen to me at all. I also helped out Caldera with their Linux beta test program and gave them the ideas on how to package the product properly. It was kinda neat to recieve that suprise package in the mail and get a conference call from their president, their product manager and my inside rep and have them say...."is this what you had in mind?" |

Post by ReeBop on Mar 1st, 2004, 7:48pm Today I feel it's too bad I didn't get any credit, but oh well....my students at the University got the things they needed and that was the important thing at the time. Now, you can't buy Linux at that Universtiy anymore. The bookstore is now owned by a off-campus corporation that really doesn't care about students at all. I do feel like a pioneer though.....just call me a "Johnny Appleseed" of Linux. :D |
