For those who like drawing programs, there is an open source SVG graphics program that you have to see to believe.  Inkscape, which is available for Windows, Linux and others, is really shaping up as a great free replacement for Illustrator and Corel Draw.

If you take a look at the screenshots, you'll see an interface that you can learn (don't get me started on the Gimp) and lots of tools and features to create some really fine graphics.    I recommend you take a look.  What can you lose...it's free!
